Car: 1995 S14 240sx

I keep hearing a "thud" noise when I switch gears, especially from first to second. From first, I accelerate to about 3k, then clutch, then switch gears to second. Right after I lift my foot off the clutch, my car makes a horrible and painful "thud". I heard a similar story where someone taps on the brake and their car makes a "thud" as well. Anyone have any ideas? TIA.

Sounds like the center hanger bearing on your driveshaft is shot. This happened on my Z32 and everytime I shifted, the DS would literally flex up and hit the bottom of the car. Takes a toll on your tranny mount too.
