what did everyone think of it?
i personally loved every part (dont care if you think im a loser for watching it), just hated waiting the 2 month intervals
the ending was pretty good, but could have been better
i wont say what happened for those of you who have not seen it yet
sad to see 4th stage over, i hope it doesnt take years for 5th stage to begin

the way they ended it sucked. i heard from a couple of people that they're going to make a stage 5. one where takumi actually races kyuske, ryuske and bunta AGAIN. lets cross our fingers.

4th stage started out a little crappy and ended pretty decently. in the beginning it seemed like they were trying to cram in as many races in as few episodes as possible, to the point where they were skipping all of keisuke's uphill races. that changed towards the middle.

at any rate, i like initial D, but i kind of want to see a conclusion to this series.

also the music was kind of a letdown... i only liked two songs, really.

i didnt kno there was a fourth stage!! wow, ive only seen up to volume 14 in the dvds they sell at best buy.

anywho, i liked the series a lot but it kind of got out of hand at times and a little repetitive, but its cool to see that there is actually an anime that is founded on the concept of street racing. and does the Initial D series have ties with Keiichi Tsuchiya???:faint:

early in the series, bunta has a chat with him over the phone, where the unnamed professional driver that we infer to be tsuchiya tells bunta that his driving scared the shit out of him.

the green gloves in the fourth stage opening sequence are probably his too.

there are actually quite a few manga/anime series based around racing. the other two i can think of off the top of my head are 'wangan midnight' and 'overrev.'

fourth stage was OK, but i still personally like second stage better. fourth stage spent too much time on a few battles and blew through the rest. anywho, i hope that fifth stage is better. i do expect that there will be at least another stage because natsuki, mako, and kyoto haven't gotten together with their respective guys (we all know that's how it will end). also, itsuki doesn't have a gay partner yet. :bite:

I like the non-car storyline. I really think 4th Stage tries to cram in too many car races and misses some of the character development that is in it. Stuff like the relationships and interpersonal dramas. It started getting better like 1/2 way through with the RX-7 girl and Itsuki's dating stories but then they drop it and go back to car racing. They also need more of a continuous story rather than some excuse to link races together. The 1st Stage had more of the build up and background between the races.. the later ones kinda throw that out the window. The races are nice but a whole story make it does not.

i agree! that wasn't much of an ending.

initial D still has its moments. when keisuke and god foot when into the u-turn at the same time, me and all my friends bugged out.

those moments are fewer and far between now. i went back and watched a bit of 1st stage. the races look ancient, but the storyline is 30x better. i think shigeno should just give us a proper ending and be done with it.

I think the reason they ended it so cheezy, was so they can just get 4th stage over with and get ready for 5th stage. From the looks of it, 5th stage is gonna be better than any other stage.
