Me versus lamppost, mondayevening. Rear broke out since my tires weren't in a übergood condition and it was wet..., too much oversteer, couldn't correct it and hit the lamppost at about 30kmh.

Bodyshop says it's 1500euro's damage! And i have to give them the bumper/fender/hood etc... :blah:

I'm taking her home this week, strip off the front end and see what the damage is.... Might be best off buying another s13 and switch everything from my car into that one and keep the parts from my own s13 as reserve :o .

My 240 had the same damage, just on the opposite side. It was an easy fix. I fixed it myself with a frame machine and a hammer in under 5 hours. Good luck with it.

That aint anything... Pretty easy fix. Just start finding front end parts then once you have everything its not as bad.

Damn that sucks. Your car looks scared, shocked, and sad.

Do you have a ca18det?

That car looks cool as hell man! Orange color is awesome!

I'll post pics of the frame damage when I get the car back home! Hopefully tomorrow...

So, there is money to be made importing S15 fronts?

DeBastaard

Depends howmuch they would cost ...
If you get a front here, it would off course need a paintjob, and the lights have to be adjusted for the Euro-rules and crap. That costs 500 fecking euro.... :/

I only see a buster radiator support and fuxored bumper.
The hood will bend back.
Bend the fenders back, stick a new support and bumper, close it up.

Hit everything with a hammer until good as new.

The intercooler was hitting the wheel, i'll have to remove and straighten everything up there i reckon!

All I did was make a pull on the top of the core support and used a hammer to beat the rest of the core and I had to beat the frame rail up to meet the fender. The hood will not bend back enough for it to look right. The fender isn't beyond repair but it's going to take alot more time, effort and money than you want to spend. If you take it to a body shop they are just going to replace the hood, fender, and bumper anyways. I say that you should weigh the cost of the repair against the cost of a conversion. my .02

Poor car. Looks like it had a Stroke. :(

Lesson learned: If you can't afford new tires, you can't afford to drive in the rain.

fix or replace the radiator support. if you have a spot welder you can do this yourself. you need a drill, a special bit that drills out spot welds, and a spot welder. drill out the old one and weld on the new one. done and done.

junkyard parts for hood, fender and bumper. you could even get a junkyard radiator support if you are so inclined.

Ooo.. Sorry to hear about that.
+1 for putting the i/c behind the radiator support.
Check for leaks too.

Just some helpful DIY bodywork tips
SOME of that metal down there can't be beat straight(then again i'm pretty weak). You might be better off doing the magic cut and reweld.

8lb sledge is your friend(or 16 kilo or something for you).

Hoods work better if you jump on them. I've done this to 2 hoods now and must say it works pretty damn good.

it doesnt look THAT bad, just need body pieces and the radiator support
replacement parts shouldnt be too hard to find, unless S13's are hard to come by in holland

Poor car. Looks like it had a Stroke. :(

Lesson learned: If you can't afford new tires, you can't afford to drive in the rain.

Bought the S13 for 3500euro's, so 1500 is about half the value of the car, haha :D

My plan was to smoke them somewhere this week on a large parkinglot as i've got 4 nearly new Toyo T1-R's laying in the garage for a couple of months :bash: .

And thank you all for the help, tips etc. My plan is to get some new bodywork picked up next week. Could get a black hood, pre-facelift bumper (without the front lip tho :( ).
Luckily we're getting 380V to our house next week so we can use our recently bought MIG welder :D .

Once i've cut all the bodywork that's damaged off i'll can finally see what the real damage is, then we can get started on making new bodywork behind the bumper etc.

And off course, this crash is a good excuse to fit new parts properly. I've got this Saab FMIC in the garage, waiting to be fitted :D .

Still a waste of the money, I was saving up to buy some bucketseats, or a 2way differential!

Ow well, as long as the damage isn't even close to the 1500 euro (2000 dollar or something!) by fixing it ourself i'm a very happy bunny.
I Should be able to pick some bodywork up for recently low money. Was hoping for somewhere below the 200euro for hood/fender/bumper/bumper braces.

My younger brother will hopefully pick the car up today with a friends trailer, so I can start removing all the broken parts ...

Off course i'll post pics of the progress haha :D

Hey, at least they didn't total it out...

DeBastaard

Indeed!

If the damage is really bad when i get the broken parts off, i'm considering buying another S13 for 1400euro's and put all my stuff in that car and keep the rest as spare parts. (Instead of getting the front fixed for 1500euro).

Might be thinking of putting on another bumper tho.. something a bit cooler.
