BTW, is it possible for you to find those ever so cool Japanese deep lip rims that we cant get here? I am looking for a 15 or 16" by 7 or 8 (4x4½) with as close to 0 offset as possible. This would be a great help.

Where at in Japan are you. I have a hook up in Cali that will Handle the parts. My wife works for the GOJ LTO and maybe can expedite your export license. That is what she does International export.
By the way Zilvia Members he is right they are that cheap over here and they are the same quality. It is just that the people like JSpec USH etc have to find the engine test the engine then import the engine. the idea he has all he has to do is find the engine (which is not as it would seem) I have this one company (if you want to call it that) called Arakaki auto service that has 10 different engines spanning from CA-18 to 13/14/15 they have Strawberry face front ends.
If you have ever wondered why they call it that it is because 15 if you say as 1-5=ichigo= the japanese word for strawberry
There is also this magazine called cross roads that sells used parts I just bought a greddy profec a boost controller for $120 I can get a full set of 15' Watanabe rims for $400 4 LUG OF COURSE a Full set of SSR mesh 15" 4 lug for $400
Well I just turned the page 5 Lug 15"x 7j Watanabe $450 full set.
16" x 8j/9j 5 lug Watanabe $580
2 set Gunmetal R32 skyline rims no tires $250
Well you get the point the possibilities are endless there just has to be trust and that is hard when it is coming to money and long distances. Someone has to take the first step!!

I am no ones side but how can you judge what you have no idea about? So far all that he has said is true. Here the Junk yards are full of wrecked Silvias, 180sx's, Skylines, etc. There are selective companies here that are insurance claim officers and when someone files there car totaled (and it might not be) then there you go once it has been filed the insurer keeps everything off the vehicle nothing can be removed. I was in a junk yard the other day where a 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo was crashed it had the brembo calipers and rotors, Recaro seats, Blitz Intercooler, Profec A boost controller ( I bought it for $120) and the list goes on. I have mentioned this before but there are "Loan Sharks" (if you want to call them that) Like the Yen Shop, Iffel, Promise, etc. that lend these people millions of yen to buy the cars they like and the homes they need. So, when they break it I am there to get the good stuff.
Say what you will but if he is telling the truth then you are making everyone else pass up a good oppertunity to get cheaper stuff. I know these engines and the engines that J-spec, Unstble, MCKinney, and so on come from the places I listed above. Just like wht he can get. a complete SR Redtop will run $400-$500, a complete Blacktop will run $550-$700,
I know for a fact! I am here and I will always be here!

Silviasichigo: can you help me find some rims? Do you have pics of the ones you mention? Being in Canada it is even harder than most places to find performance for these cars, especially when talking about front clips. I really want an sr20det (red or black) with a full front silvia triple lamp conversion. Can you hook me up? pleez email me

thanx

I will be getting a new scanner tomorrow so I will scan the pages of the Mag that I have and I will let you choose the rims you like and maybe we can work something out. I am a fair man I will do you no injustice. Yes talk to Blinkor he will tell you.

First im not going to give credit to Sr20man since I do not know him. I will say this though is prices on pretty much right on. Escflowne from freshalloy is currently in japan on vacation. He is taken pictures of pretty much everything he can get his camera pointed at. He took pics at a Up-Garage and the prices tags on sr20s or like 500-600 bucks(shop price). There is even a RB25 I think for like a couple grand... so just because other shops in the states charge a arm and a leg doesnt mean that everyone needs to charge that.
One thing to look at is that, yes you can get a sr20det w/ wireharness, smic, tranny for like 600 bucks but what is the shipping going to cost. That is the big question....
Really, I hope Sr20man can start a good business and give us good deals cause Jspec is expensive and I would love to have a bride seat w/ takata 4 point harness... without having to pawn my roommates girlfriend.

happe626,
Every business has to start somewhere. Doesnt matter if its 1 person or 100 people going in on it.
Its true that Sr20man has no credibility because he is just trying to get started... that is atleast with us. Now the only way he is going to get business over other is if he beats there prices and customer care which with his prices he has already done and if someone orders via him we will then find out about his respect for his customers.
Now like I said in my last post im assuming he didnt including shipping pricing and a little for his time so assume that the price will be higher for sr20's.
If your not comfortable ording via him cause he does not have a rep then dont but leave it at that. Everyone else on this forum knows how the net can be misleading and some are and are not willing to take chances for a hard to find product at a good price...
Sr20man I think you should read some of the lostproject post on group buys and to get a good understanding how zilvia users respond when things go wrong.... (Dont take this the wrong way Ian.)

I'm with happe626, on this
He has provided no proof. He hasn't even posted again.
Something smells fishy .... and it's not my fingers ... I washed them already.

It comes down to a judement call on your half. My first purchase surely would not be an $500 product but maybe something small and then build up tell you build a rep with the cat... Im not just talking about Sr20man but any business that does not have a strong rep...
Just my opinion though....

So out of curiosity, how would one go about starting an import jdm shop.. I would imagine you need a port thats relatively close to your home base, a connection from Japan, a exporting license.. what else? I mean how hard would it be to just get in touch with someone from japan, and have the Sr20det engine or what not shipped to you and cut out the middle man? is it more costly? cuz I imagine the mark up is pretty high grabbing a clip or engine from said reliable jdm shop in the states.. I've bought german parts for my car in knowing somebody from Germany and I send him the money plus a little extra for his troubles and shipping, saves a bit than buying from a shop in the states and pay shipping for it.

Hey Guys!...This is in repsonse to all who doubt my goodwill for all Americans to have the nicest JDM stuff known to man kind. Yes, I have no credibility as I have yet to get off the ground. First one must understand the government BS red tape that one must go through to get anything done in Japan. Those of you who live here no what I mean. If you are a "gaijin" you'll run into brick walls at every turn...very frustrating. I like "HAPPE626"....resembles my pessimism .
I have connections up the ying yang here in Japan but none in the US as I mentioned in my previous post.. I will need handlers on the west coast. I will be looking mainly at LA and SF for starters and move on to Seattle and possibly Florida.
I've hooked up with an acquaintance who ships import cars to Canada and US in which he's agreed to let me use his container to put some of my stuff in their when he has open space...Kind of like "space available" in other words free! I've got the shipping problem taken care of...now is the Export/Emport, US Customs etc etc etc. I've done some simple mathematics for what it would cost me to ship 10 engines to include import/export/port handling etc. and I figured I could sell a complete Redtop Sr20DET-ECU, harness, tranny for about $1100 with a pretty nice profit embedded in that cost. I have a friend in the military who is a loadmaster on a C-141 in which he sent two blacktop SR20DET motors on a military aircraft space available for me. Reached California in less than 19 hrs and into the hands of the buyer in less than 24hrs! I wish I could use military aircraft....NO CUSTOMS! That was way too cool! "... Anybody know someone in the military here in Japan?...that is definitely the way to go baby!
For the guy looking for front clips....I'm staring at 4 Silvias from my office window across the street from this salvage yard...I can walk over and get them for practically nothing...these are cars that are getting ready to go to the "Metal Eater...For those who are wondering where I am....I'm in JAPAN...Checkout EBAY...I just put up a set of brand new Circuit racing Coilovers...brand new...oh by the way...I have direct distributor connections as well with HKS, GREDDY, APEXi etc etc etc. So you will see more and more BRAND NEW stuff on EBAY as well. I think EBAY sucks...they take too much money when you sell stuff and even post items for sale! Look forward to reading more interesting responses. You guys are great!!! ZILVIA.NET is way cool...thanks to Brett who told me about this site.!!

To Kamran: if you know of anyone that can help out with any other logistical planning on the US end please let me know. Getting started is the toughest part as I have no clue on what I am doing on the US side. I can't be at 3 differenet places at one time. Any references you can provide will be appreciated. Finding good honest folks are really hard to come buy especially when it involves greenbacks..

Hey, I'm in toronto as well. If you're serious about this endeavor and you gain credibility for you're statements with the members here, count me in. s-14 clip, or s-14 with all the bells and whistles, you get the point.
