Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself to the the 240sx community. My name is Tim and i bought my 1989 240sx 5 speed fastback on Feb 16 2006. got it for $700 running and with no body damage. I have alot of work to do to get it up to par but in faith of me getting the car i purchased z32 calipers aluminum 30mm f+r , and the rear 300zx spindles/hub set/ebrake assembly, and 5 lug conversion for the front all before i even purchased the car. i plan on working on suspension, stance, and braking before i do anything with the motor, but i do plan on swapping to a 91 ka24de since i live in california and dont want to hassle with the sr20det smog issues and what not. Just thought i would let everyone now how i got this car...i saw it about 3 months ago sitting in front of a persons house in the next town over from me while i was driving by during work, not for sale but looking like it probably been sitting for a while. started looking to get a 240 after those months went by and looking with no luck I remembered this one. I went to the persons house. Knocked on the door and asked if he was willing to sell for $500, he told me it was his dads and he would talk to him about it, so i got his number and called him the next day. his dad wanted $700 for it so i went over there with all the money i had, and got the car. drove it home. it has a couple small problems with the engine feeling like there is a governor while accelerating after it gets warm and the tach and temp guages stopped working, needs a new fan and shroud, but other than that the body is straight no accidents or abuse, everything still stock, interior needs some attention but thats the least of my concerns. need to get everything mechanically up to par to get it smogged and registered before anything else. let me know what you guys think?

good luck. unless you're going to swap that ka24e right away, i'd spend whatever money you got left on a full tune up.

yepp, good luck...and uhmmm, in Cali it is the sellers responsibility for the smog, unless you signed away that right as the buyer and said you'd take care of it yourself? Yepp. Good luck with it, if you get frustrated and want to get rid of it....let me know! ;P
