So far I've seen:
Greddy - Cast Aluminum, 1.05 quarts more, baffles (280)
Tomei - Stainless Steel, .65 quarts more, baffles, strong construction (450-500)
ARC - Cast Aluminum, 1 quart more, no baffles (350)
Stock - you know stock (100)
Are there any other rarities out there that I'm missing?!? The only reason I'm starting this is I'm in the market for one and love the Tomei. It's solid construction and baffles win it for me, but the price for only .65 quarts more...the Greddy just makes so much sense but I'm not fond on the 'cast aluminum' construction. It is 200 less though *that's a nice oil relocation kit :)

i like the greddy personally, definately more oil capacity and comes with a tapped hole for a oil temp sensor. has the baffles as well

just use the stock and pound it out on a piece of carpet. it will get a bowl like effect and hold some more oil.thats what i did.

I have the greddy pan, and it has held up quite well for me. I have hit it rather hard on multiple curbs/ledges ( yes my car has mounted curbs and other things on multiple occasions). The pan has taken some pretty big hits, which are evident by the marks on it, and has not cracked. Another good thing about the aluminum contruction is that it won't bend upwards, hitting your oil pickup. A cracked oilpan is better than a motor with a non-functioning oil pickup.

if you are worried about having the cast pans crack from hitting something. make sure to run a larger front swaybar as a deflector from debris.

hmm, i have an indentation on the bottom of the oil pan and it's about an inch or so deep. is that where the oil pick up is located? or is it closer towards the rear?

u should fix that pronto. oil starvation on a sr=boom. there are also ebay pans that are about 100 bux. greddy copy though. u can also get the greddy plus one of those aluminum skidplates. im thinking of making one myself.

I probably am the only guy with an ARC oil pan. I havn't had any issues. Though I was concerned when i saw that it had no baffle. I havn't done any hard cornering, although a few passes at the drag strip. Better casting than greddy though.

Ebay knockoff is not bad. Some are more pourous then others though and can leak but mine has held up fine for almost a year.

Is it true, that the Greddy oil pan, (and most after market) oil pans, don't have drain plugs? If they could have pretapped a hole for the oil temp sensor, why didn't they just tap a drain plug?

No the greddy has two holes and is a great oil pan for the price. Great casting and good fitment. I would go greddy.

The greddy does. It has a drain and one for a temp sensor.

Are you sure about this? Because, if that's the case, I will pick me up one.

yes, it does....I have a Greddy oil pan as well...
And why would you think that the oil pan would come with a drain plug? that's kinda retarded.

A year old thread...I had since gotten the Greddy pan.
It's a 5 quart oil change including a nissan oem filter. Has a drain plug (not a bolt but a threaded hole) and oil temp hole and is extremely nice. I wouldn't recommend anything else and has done extremely well while pulling Gs. No oil starvation issues what so ever. :x:

this thread sounds very interesting, but what oil pan would you guys recommend for an individual looking for a better than stock oil pan, that dosent cost too much, but increases the oil capacity by at least half a litre...already the greddy sounds pretty good ^_^

How was draining the oil in the GReddy pan? I have on but haven't installed it yet, it just looks like it won't let all the oil out because were that drain screw is located.

Of COURSE it does. I have one in my car. Why the hell would any manufacturer make an oil pan without a drain plug? How would you be able to change the oil?

Another ggggggggay thing about the Greddy oil pan is that the threads tend to strip. I plan to have mine rethreaded with a larger bolt and pitch.
Otherwise it's a good oil pan:
Baffles +1
More capacity +1
Will crack instead of bend and not damage oil pickup +1000
Extra plug for oil temp sensor +1
Need to retap with larger pitch and thread -1
Won't work with Largus front swaybar -1 (Might work with others?)
And finally, if you're gonna upgrade avoid the freddy oil pan. Its cheap casting is porus and oil will seep through some pans!

I am normaly quick to rock ARC but in this case the greddy is the better unit. Cheaper, with baffles and holds slightly more oil.

You mean, why would I think that the oil pan, didn't have a drain plug. The only reason I thought this, was I asked an ebay seller, about the greddy oil pan. He told me no, the greddy pan doesn't have a drainplug. I was like :wtf:

People who strip out oil pans are doing something wrong. It needs like 9lb feet to be tight

Greddy Pan will work with Largus but you have to fuck with the swaybar mount locations.

I was going to say the same thing. Half the reason these guys feal the need to crank the hell out of their pans is probably because they're not repalcing the brass crusher washer every other oil change or so. For 5 bucks you can a 10 pack...

It's titlted to that side, and you can easily access the plug even from above. I laugh at how easy this car is teo change oil. I drove the car up on 2x4's on both sides, slide the drain pan under neath, and take the filter and drain plug off from above. Simple.

QFT on that. I remember reading you could use Miati or something endlinks from Racingbeat as replacments to make it work as well.
FWIW: My greddy pan clears the Whiteline front adjustable bar.

i would say LARGUS -1, I believe they are the only front sway bar that doesn't clear the oil pan... IMO the greddy is the best pan out there.
Tomei - too expensive, and I don't think its even stainless (I stuck a magnet to it easily).
ARC - Big f'in waste of money. Greddy style but no baffles and more expensive
Ebay freddy pans - Pure crap. Crappy casting, leaks, and the damn thing is painted to look nice. (And really...who cares if a few people out there haven't had problems, do you want to risk being the one that DOES have a problem?) This is your oil system people... Do you really want to risk your motor?

Yeah, Largus is only sway bar that doesn't fit greddy pans. My tanabe sway bar fits great.

Extra plug for water temp sensor +1
Uhhh.... Norm... yeah that doesn't sound right. Hahahah I know what you mean though. Extra plug for oil temp sensor.
Tomei oil pans have an extra hole for that purpose too.
As does all women. J/K

The pan is angled, so the side where the drain is at is the lowest part of the pan. The beauty of pan is that I dont have to jack my car to drain my oil. I can slide a catcher under it and pop the drain plug from the engine bay. Then having a Greddy Oil Filter Relocation Kit, I can change my oil in 5 mins tops. :bigok:
