2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?

1. Participation mainly, but watching it isn't bad once in awhile. It's definitely low on the ladder of spectator sports though.
2. It's fun to do, looks out of control.
3. Not really.
4. I typically buy products from the companies but not because of their sponsorships, but because of the quality of products they represent.
5. Not really, if I had to say one I'd say Gitten Jr. but only because we sponsor him.
6. I'd stay loyal to the driver.
7. Nothing really, other motorsports are far more developed. I just enjoy drifting because it's fun to do.

1. neither. it's fun to watch, but i wouldn't go spectate at an event. i'd like to try it, but i never got around to it.
2. it looks fun.
3. no.
4. no.
5. the few drivers who post on zilvia. and benson, because he has a funny website.
6. driver, i guess.
7. i don't think drifting is better than other motorsports. it's probably got more mass appeal because it's has more 'oh shit' value.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
Participation, I really can't watch for too long without wanting to drive
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
The individual style everyone has, tandeming with someone, or in the middle of a pack of people. Trying to mirror someones style.
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
Only difference is I buy from them because they are dealing with what I need.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
I buy everything from TF nowadays, so I guess yes
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Myself, and my friends.
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
I'm not really loyal to any drivers, I like certain drivers for thier styles but I could care less if they won or lost.
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
Ease of entry, versatility with tracks, the fact that people can watch drifting from start to finish and enjoy every second of it.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
Yes both
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
Fun. Its less serious than traditional motorsports, though competitions get pretty intense.
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
Yes and no. I still won't buy APC, but much more likely to buy from a sponsor that supports motorsports than not.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
Yes
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Not really no.
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
Driver. Drifting is a "show", and its about the driver's performance mostly.
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
Its different, so its hard to compare directly. The fun factor if anything.

1. Participating most of the time but if I ran out of tires or something broke, I become a cameraman.
2. Having compelete control of a car while it looks like it's out of control.

4. Nope. Unless they know jack about their products and have a great tech support.
5. Nope.
6. No. I don't really care about them.
7. No. You waste more tires than most sports.

"im a drift groupie.. i do it becuase i crashed my honda so i need another sport, but i still love my honda. 240sx suck yet i bought one so i could buy alot of drift parts, hang around shops alot and tag along for events, yet i dont drift or track my car but i can also be an ass on the forums since i know everything about drifting and even put down on my friends who post"
sarcasm for some people i know who think they know everything.. who cares.. lol.
Just to some people here tho, please dont get too big headed about the drift scene. lol. that is all.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
Im a fan of the sport, I mess around in local canyons basicly grifting or driping
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
Smoke, angle, speed. Its like making the celibrations after a nascar race a sport.
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
Well most companies that sponsor drifting were major companys before drifting got big so I always really respected them.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
Yes, but it all depends on the best bang for your buck. Like magnaflow, even though they are not a big drift sponsor I still buy stuff from them due to there quality and price.
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Ken Gushi, all of Drift Alliance
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
Yes sir!!!! I wouldnt mind seeing gushi driving another car with the falken blue/green colors
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
nothing beats F1 or JGTC..... but drifting right now is great, its a fans motorsport. I get to shake hands with all my favorite drivers during the event, you get to see what kind of equipment they use up close and personal.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
I enjoy both spectation and participation, but watching non pro. driving can get boring at times.
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
Many of my family and friends are into drifting. Almost anyone can get into drifting and after a couple of year you can be competitive unlike the higher end motorsports such as formula 1 or WRC
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
It really depends on the company and the quality of their products.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
I would buy products that fit my needs and price range.
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Yes, i follow Wes Hamachi, Taka Aono. I don't really follow Katsuhiro Ueo, but I love watching him drive.
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
The driver.
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
I would not really say that drifting is "better" than any other motorsport, it is just different. Every motorsport has the thing that makes it "better" than others.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
Participating is always fun, save you've got the cash for it. Being passenger is second, trailed by watching.
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you? The techniques you actually learn, and use in actual life, ie. car crashes, raining really hard on freeways, random accident/collision evading manuevers (SP?)
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies? ranging from autobody reworking, to fancy stickers, tuning shops as sponsors = the win.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor? Nope.
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who? Nope.
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both? Driver, being as he's the one who's skill caught my eye with driving, not the team itself.
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports? Just like roadracing, you learn clipping points, apexes, and all that good jazz. Don't learn that kinda stuff dragging.

1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
it's fun to watch, don't have anywhere to try it myself though
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
the car control, and the tuning
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
drifting definitely takes it's toll on cars, so obviously the cars are well built
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
suspension parts, yes
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Hibino from D1, Yoshihara and Pfeiffer are pretty cool guys that I've met.. I root for them as well
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
driver
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
it's not so redundant as watching guys follow the same lines over and over and over.. plus it's cool to watch an underpowered car keep up with a much more powerful car

If you are a fan of drifting, I need just a minute or two of your time to respond to these questions for my Marketing Comm class project. All questions are open ended, you may write as little or as much as you want, please number your answers in correspondance with the question that it relates to:
1. Are you a fan of drifting through spectation or participation or both?
Both
2. What is the main appeal of drifting, to you?
It gives me that funny feeling inside, like when you know your were about to lose your virginity.
3. Of companies that are drift sponsors, do you hold them in at a different level than other tuning companies?
No, if I see quality, I see quality. I'll spend my money where it counts before I spend for "bling, got this brand name part, WOOT WOOT" factor.
4. Would you be more likely to buy products from a Drifting sponsor?
Like said above, quality above all else.
5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Not really, although I do have a couple of favorites. It's not a religion, it's a very important hobby to me that takes up enough time in my life that I don't feel the need to lock on to it like some NASCAR fan or something.
6. If a drift driver from a team (lets say Signal) were to change teams, would you be loyal to the driver or the team, or both?
If the driver could keep his skill and style with another company, sure. If he did it and ended up selling out, it's his/her loss.
7. What, if anything, makes drifting better than other motorsports?
It gives me the fuzzies that I mentioned ealier.
Thanks a bunch everyone!
Hope this helps for your project or whatever. I miss my car and sand suX!

5. Do you follow any drift drivers specifically? If so, who?
Kazama and Ken Nomura.
