I just picked it up yesterday from the dealership. It's a 2005 so they were moving them out at cost.

I bought mine from San Jose Yamaha. Any Yamaha dealership will move them out at cost right now which is supposedly $10,599 out the door.

btw my old bike was an FZR600. What a difference. I can only take it up to 6k rpm for the break in period, and i can get the front end up in first gear so far. 1st gear is too tall. Thinking about a sprocket.

Just be careful man, and enjoy your bike

I highly disagree with that break in period for lots of reasons but its to late now so bleh.....Read 'Moto Mans' articles sometime, its fun and makes a lot of sense. But dont say under 400 pounds!!! Dry weight is 372 which is quite a frickin way from 400. Dont be scared to say how fast the dang thing is.

I really want a track bike =(

Let me show you how to handle that beast. I sold my 2003 R1, bought another F4i, sold that and now I got another 2001 R1. hahahaha..man I've been through so many bikes it's not even funny.

what do you mean show me how? I rode a shitty fzr 600 for 10k miles. I hopped on my friend's R1 and went down 84 towards La Honda and used up the entire tire through every turn after the 3rd turn. They're wayy easier to ride than my fzr except they pack a lotta heat.

Someone else with the right train of thought.

I build engines for a living and agree with Moto Man.

Congrats on the new bike, Var.

i know that i would break in a car engine harder, but they also dont rev past 10k. Dont you think 6 or 7 thousand rpm is enough to seat the rings? I'm gonna do some reading on the bike forums and see what everyone thinks.
