Question about door lock cylinder

Car is an S13

Does anyone know if the door lock cylinder is the same for both driver's side and passenger's side? My driver's side lock won't turn and I would like to switch it with the passenger's. I just wanna see if anyone knows for sure before i try to switch them and then get disappointed.

The lock assembly itself should swap over, but the rod holder definitely won't because the latch is on different sides (they're mirror images of each other). The left rod holder is pink and the right one is green.

Nissan lists the same part number for the cylinders but separate part numbers for left and right rod holders.


Try taking out the driver cylinder first and then cleaning it. Sometimes something gets stuck and it won't turn. Mine was stuck and it turns out the previous owner snapped the key off in it.

Maybe you should replace it with a new one, or swap with the passenger side if you're up for it. Just remember that if both locks fail you'll have to climb in through the trunk :)
