hey i just put in my clutch pressure plate and everything but my tranny doesnt attach to the motor easy. i think one of the reasons is that the input shaft isnt attaching properly to the clutch/pressure plate. should i use the driveshaft piece at the opposite end off the tranny to spin the teeth untill they lock? also, should i jack up the motor a little so that its easier to put the tranny in? Lastly, i forgot to check how the throwout bearing felt on the input shaft and fork before i took them apart. i know how all the pieces attach together but when everything is put together, and i push the fork up and down, theres no tension. its like i push the fork and the throwout bearing moves up but it doesnt return. is it supposed to be like that? cuz it kinda seems wierd to me. im sorry if i cant be more specific. shootz thanx

Did you use the plastic alignment tool? Jacking up the engine would probably make the input shaft align better. Where in Hawaii do you live?

jacking up the motor is always always helpful. i would check the clutch alignment again. if you dont have alignment tool, feel around the clutch where you can touch the pressure plate and friction plate. make sure that there are even on all 3 sides.i dont know what kind of clutch you have so it might be different. but on oe stuff it works well. also did you make sure the friction plate went on the input shaft first? the clutch fork will only return if the clutch slave is on. also make sure the fork its on the pivot in the tranny. i would replace the throwout bearing unless you know its some what new. when i do any clutch work i put a new one on, there not that exspensive and your already in there.

yea i put a new throw out bearing on too and got it pressed. hey i live in mililani. when u asked if i aligned the input shaft with the pressure plate first wat do u mean? i put the clutch in with the alignment tool and i still got it but i dont get how that would align it with the input shaft other than just setting the clutch in place. thanx for the help plz keep posting. shootz

just man handle it and eventually it will go in, did u change the pilot bearing? if so that could b a problem too since the pilot bearing is new its a little bit more thicker, so ur gonna have some trouble getting the input shaft in, also u can try loosen ur motor mounts and ur exhaust piping to tilt the engine, if all fails u can put it in first gear so that the input shaft doesnt spin around while u r trying to get it in, other than that just keep man handling it and eventually it will go in, (assumming that u did the clutch right)
