ok i recently changed from autolite spark plugs to ngk's. now in previous 240's i have always used ngk bkr6e's. i know that the 5e's are called for the stock replacement. anyway i put 6e's in. now for some reason if the car doesnt start the first try i cant get it started at all, and there is a rediculous smell of gas so i initially removed the injector harnesses, and then tried to start it, well it would crank then die due to the lack of gas, so i would plug em back in and car would start but be sluggish for a sec then be fine. soooo why is the car flooding out. can it be the plugs? someone please help. thanx

Your injectors might be dirty or clogged.

try switching back and see if the problem persists. if the problem goes away, toss the plugs. if the engine still floods with the old plugs... then we got a problem.

any idea what the prob is, if i switch back and it still floods? i am goin to get the bkr5e's tommorrow and gap em like i used too. i forgot to mention that when i installed these, the guy told me the gap was suposed to be 0.44 when i used to gap em 0.33 so i dunno we shall see thanx

Yeah, I was going to suggest gap. Read up on what works best with those plugs.

I'm having a similar problem w/ running extremely rich. I have the 7e's gapped to 0.28

Are 5e's hotter or colder? I might have to pick up a set of those.

5e's are hotter. the higher the number the colder they get. 7 being the coldest.. that is why i think its not burnin enough fuel so its flooding!
