i need some input. ive heard that axxis is a good and cheap method for daily driven cars with canyon runs. looking for something thatll last me for a bit. in tire term, falken ziex lol. going on stock brake system. :wiggle:

I doubt you will wear out brake pads any time soon... good fluid and good pads will work fine.. the PBR ceramics work well... the metal masters seem to grip better but have more dust... I can't spend $125 for project mu front brake pads.. it's more than 3x the PBR's.. overpriced jdm..

I have project mu (not sure which model) that came with my s14 when I bought it. It doesn't dust much and doesn't seems to eat up your rotor. It's tad noisy when cold and performance is alright for street.

Other street pads that I used on other cars are:
Porterfield RS-good but needs a little heat to work well, dust
Axxis Ultimate-I don't like it and dust like mad. It feels like OEM

I have use various other brands but they ate up my rotors :(

I had Axxis ultimates, and it chewed the sh!t outta my rotora slotted rotors. Will never get those. I love satisified cermaics and it is a good deal and cheap. You can get them even at kragens. I am currently using project mu's for my 300zx front calipers, medium dust, stops really well, and occasional dust squeek (just like autox kekeke).

i've used Axxis ultimates on my last car. Really nice stopping power for the price, but had crazy brake dust. Wheels would be black by the end of the month.

i know im not gonna use hawks... friend tried them and they braked faded like crazy on touge runs... he switched to PBR's...

I use Axxis/PBR ultimates... they are not too much, but the stopping power is really good... the down side... HELLAAAAAA BRAKE DUST... its kinda crazy but haha i ono my wheels hide them pretty well...

Edit: It seems that people here either run Hawk HPS' or Axxis Ultimates. Can anyone give their current opinions (all threads are pretty old now) so that we may learn a little more? What about EBC?

axxis metal masters will eat any rotors alive, but they do work good. i use oem pads and love them. they seem to last along time and ive never had brake fade in the touge. but ive heard only good things about project mu. if i had money i would probly try them out.

I am currently working on my S14's Brakes... So I have been looking into alot of Brake Pads.

Endless Vita Nuova - I have a set of these on Mitzi's Civic and they are actually very nice and Dust isn't crazy but, builds up fast... they made noise for a bit then it dissappered. Feel is a little better than Stock... I have not noticed any Fade yet but its strickly street driving.

Currenly looking at the Endless Sport-M & Spec D for S14.

Project Mu I have always heard good from but I have no personal exp. with yet.

Believe me i went through pads in about 1/2 a year when i drove a lot w/ the 240. So pads are important to me.

Go endless if u can. otherwide get some porterfields.

Go for Hawk HP Plus..

They sound crazy, but also perform crazy..

I use the endless sss as well, you'll be amazed at how little brake dust comes off on them and they are pretty good about not warping rotors in the back when using the e brake. If you can afford it, get the endless.

I've got Project Mu B-force on my S13. Great pad, fades very little during canyon runs, good initial bite. I had D1 specs, which had even better initial grip, but wore out after 4 months. I'd recommend the B-force, but I'd stay away from the D1-spec. as for the NS, I'm putting some on my Evo VIII, and am waiting to see how they'll turn out.

cool. keep us posted with the NS. and ive noticed for projectmu's that they have Bforce and the D1spec. seems the same, whats the difference?

D1's grip harder initially because they operate in a lower temperature range than the B-force. They are a softer compound which allows the cooler temp range, but because of this, they wear out really fast. The B-force requires warming up, but even cold, still offers good braking.
D1's are only for the rear, meant to be used with e-brake techniques. Even so, the B-force is more than capable being used for the same purpose.
