what do you guys think about the celica all-trac gt-4? I think they look good for an 80s car and am considering it as an alternative to the 240 - moved to atlanta and the 240 is like a motorcycle in the rain. However, Ive never driven one and dont know how they handle/perform. any insight would be appreciated.. i would look on the all-trac forum but they'll prob just say it performs great cuz they own one. I just did a quick search and they are purdy rare so it'll be a pain to find a good condition gt4

all-tracs are sweet. if you get one adjust the wastegate rod. there at like 5psi from the factory. and watch out for leaky coolant lines in the back of the block.

1988? Expect to replace a lot of crap. I haven't seen one thats entirely stock in a long time. And even if you were lucky to find one close to stock, the sheer mileage of the thing would be enough to warrant the replacement of the ENTIRE car. I think a smarter idea would be to buy a 1998 or 99 celica and put a 3sgte in. No 4 wheel drive though... but FF is decent in the rain...

good luck finding parts for it..i dont think anyone even makes a diff for it...i think Cusco might have one, but that's it (if anyone even can get that).

maybe newer version diffs can work on them but i think they still might be vlsd's. also theres no room to work in the engine bay. dont waste your time unless u find one in really good condition.

3sgte's are stout motors. awd, a plus.
suspension for that generation is kinda lacking.

What is wrong with a 240 in the rain? I drive mine in the snow.
