help with fuel pump

I have a 1988 300z non turbo, and I keep burning the fusible link for my fuel pump any suggestions?
I went through the entire wiring harness looking for a problem but nothing I can see or find.

Does the fuel pump work well? It might have burned up some of the wiring in the motor for the pump itself causing excessive draw.

If you don't already have a copy of the factory service manual, go here!

thanks for the service manual! the fuel pump works fine, but i continue to burn fuses that control the pump itself! for example i turn the ignition and the pump turns on but as soon as i get ready to crank the car the fuse goes out!

That's really weird man. It makes me think you have a short somewhere, that's triggered by a relay. Your best bet is to go through the wiring diagrams in the manual and trace some wires.
