was wondering about running a inline cooler for my fuel lines because it gets really hot here in vegas and colder fuel meens a happier motor

The only non-drag race car that I've heard of people putting fuel coolers on is RX7's. That is primarily because rotaries are angry little bastards and produce ridiculous amounts of heat. On an SR I doubt that would be an issue...

I doubt you would see any tangible gains. In theory, yes, cooler fuel SHOULD be better. It's only really worth it if you've got a fuel temperature issue though.

Of course we all want our fuel to be ice cold. Of Course!!!

However, touching the fuel system, and adding unnecessary lines and hardware, could be an enormous mistake. Your are taking a somewhat reliable fuel delivery system and opening it up to potential serious hazards.

If you want to cool the mixture off that bad, go for some methanol injection kit. Check out aquamist systems. If you do it wrong, and make a mistake, then maybe you will not have a fire.

25 dollar inline cooler or 500$ cooler that you have to fill with dry ice or methanol id take the 1st option and make sure its in a safe spot

I think the idea of cooling your fuel in a street car is quite pointless... What do you expect to get out of it? If the cooler is only $25, I doubt it will have enough cooling power to actually make a difference.. How hot do you think the fuel even gets?

seriously dude, think about AFR ratio, and how much it affects your engine. Then think again about modding your fuel lines and adding possible leaks for a 0.000001% improvement.

answer one basically have to spend 500-800 to see a difference

Answer two not worth it....

reason I brought this up saw a episode of roadkill were they had problems with the fuel pump heating the fuel to much and creating vacumlock and the fuel was boiling it was shoot here in vegas but that was with a carbed car.....just a thought

I have another great idea. Lets turbocharge the factory 240sx engine in the hopes of making 350 horsepower reliably for 80,000 miles. And my engine already has 80,000 miles.

Why not just get nitrous oxide. It provides a cooling effect to the air coming in/combustion chamber.
