what do you guys think?
i just bolted on my vertex kit for my 90 hatch and i have the N1 duals. they are way sunken in and im going to have my pipes extended so it sticks out of my bumper.. should i extend it enough to where the tips show? or should i extend it to where the actual barrel sticks out a tiny bit (maybe an inch or half an inch.)

i say you shouldnt leave it sunken. More exhuast sut stays on your bumper and eventually it turns black in that area. And if i spent money on Dual N1s i would want pple to see them

i went ahead and did tips only... after he cut off the barrels i placed it with the barrels out a little. It looked too gaudy(sp?). i did the whole tip and angled the exhaust up a tiny bit more.. IMO, i think its pretty hot... ill post some pictures tomorrow during the daytime...
ill post some pictures while its primered too... i bought the kit used so its not in the best condition, but it all fits decent... the kit is the vertex knockoff from AIT (advanced import tuning. i think thats what it stands for) ive heard from a friend that these were decent fitting and really low priced. well i tried it out... the quality of the kit is decent for being F.glass. the only problem i had really was on the passenger side skirt, where it wraps over where the door closes, the bottom of the door was sliding against it, i just fixed this problem with a couple of screws to press the fiberglass against the body. and also the vertex kit i guess wasnt made to fit the N1 duals properly so i had to dremel out the exhaust slit a little to get my tips to fit through. the rear bumper doesnt sit that well because on the driver side because i was hit pretty bad in the corner right by rear sidemarker. we got it out as much as we can, but the rear fender is misaligned a little. my paint is going to be light olive green (army) i dont know if you guys have seen the D sport mag with the "triple d 240", but thats exactly how i wanted my car to look (way before he had his in that mag, ) but im going to have the lip on the vertex kit painted black. i painted the lip black just to see if i would like it on my kit, its not that bad IMO...here are some pictures. they were taken with my phone so bare with me...ill replace these tomorrow with better quality pictures tomorrow and pictures of my exhaust. and woot i got a new windshield! woot. comments and flames are welcome.

your N1 duals are gonna be to wide for the exhaust cutout. So one of your tips is gonna be hidden. this is the best pic i can find
OR you can modify the opening, and open it up. Thats what I did. You will have to cut, clamp, lay some fiberglass sheets, smc it, the sand till smooth and prime. About an inch and a half on each side should do it.

JH - the old paint was fading. and i hated the old wheels without the centercaps.. so i sold my wheels and ditched the blue paint.. gonna get painted soon...
siizzzoooo - as for my N1 duals i dremeled out the opening and extended my exhaust... and i mentioned it was a vertex knock off in the beginning of what i wrote... i was just too lazy to type out vertex knockoff throughout the whole thing...

hey you think you can get some more pics of how flush the front and rear rims are to the body? And what is the set up on the rims (offsets, spacers, and size)?
Thanks |

im not trying to have bad terms with you or anyone else on this forum... im just here to learn and help out whoever needs it... as for my expectations, and i mean this non-offensively, i want my car to look good, but in a way in which I think its good...i dont need or want a show winning S13. my car abused way too much to put that kind of money into it... but a decent daily driver wouldnt hurt neither... as long as i do what i want to my car, i would be happy.
so no hard feelings to JH or whoever else makes a bad comment on my car. if you want it your way... get your own car or do it to the one you drive... back on topic: as for it being primered, its not going to stay like that for that long... gonna get it repainted as soon as the prime of the heat hits the bay area(which is soon)... going with Olive Green... i have my Oem style CF hood and about to pick up a CF trunk lid for dirt cheap... so im debating if i should paint my roof black... IMO, i think it would look hot with my matte black bandwagons (i got these FN's for $400 brand new. and they are lightweight. thats the only reason i picked em up. )...
