Still usable or not? z32 ebrake cable

so i was pulling off the ebrake cables off a 300zx at the local boneyard today, and i noticed a portion of it had been cut. the cut went far enough to expose the actual cable...but i was messing around with it and it seems to still engage the ebrake mechanism. just wondering if it would be ok to seal up the cut section, or would i havt to replace?

Also, it was hot today, and i was getting really frustrated with removing the rear brakes since it was my first time...and i kinda went apeshit taking out the ebrake cable from the cab...Can i still use?

As long as the cable isn't nicked it's fine. The insulation doesn't do anything except protect it from running/fraying.

Send a message via AIM to rican_nick
if you can't see any fraying.. pull on the cable end to end see if it pulls fine. If so you should be good. If it dragging alot it may be frayed internally which means it will eventually pop or bind up.
