Just wondering what everyone thinks about how things happen. Is it because it is fate and things that happen were going to happen anyway, or is it free will, that we determine what is going to happen because we decide how things will play out?

I didn't vote because I don't really believe in one or the other. Some things may have "just meant to be" but other things I believe you really do control. Whatevers though, it's all individual. Religious ppl may believe more in fate, while atheists (errr, sp?) may be more choicists. (i just made that word up.) ...
what happened to the "abstain" vote?

i bite my tounge when something screws up and someone says "...oh well! it was meant to be!" or "god wanted this to happen" or "we were brought together by fate" how many times have i heard that one. lol.

I think its BS. I get something cauz I work for it. I lose something because I didn't work hard enough to keep it. Not much more too it that I can see.

I won't go into god or religion because I don't even know what I believe anymore, but I like to thing there's a god.
Assumeing there is, I don't think one would control everything that happens. I think you make stuff happen for yourself.

I'm not religious, nor intolerant of religion. I used to be catholic... now I've been studying Buddhism.
After that briefing.. I think it'd be kinda stupid to think that we are all just put here to live out a pre-determined life. It seems like a waste.
Or
In another perspective... If we do live a pre-destined life.. then it's like God (or religious guy) is making a puppet show out of our lives.. and I can't think that way.

I was just about to poste a poll extremely similar to this one, and here i go to the polls section and it is right in front of my face. I believe god shows us the way and puts choices in front of us, but we ultimately make the final choice.

exactly how i feel, i think i can do w/e and its up to me. but then sometimes you cant control everything.. like ive always wanted a 240, but i got a teg as my first car. Then on a drive to see my gf, the day before christmas, some guy hits me while im doin 70.. anyways, he didnt want to call insurance and ended up only payin not even 1/3 of the dmg. I was stuck w/a beat up car.. but then a few months later i found a 240, for only 800, original title and perfect (literally) condition, just leakin oil. so yea, i believe in fate..

..not to mention meeting my gf.. dat i love!
