1m resistor knock sensor

I need some help on how to bypass the knock sensor on my KA. I just need the CEL off to pass smog. I was going to do the 1m resistor trick and just need some exact instrustions on how to do it.
If anyone can help me by showing pics that would be great. thanks

well just make sure you hide the plug with the resistor...smog tech sees it...they will fail it....just remove the bulb much easier also only work if its 95 and below 1996 and above they have to plug it in the smog machine for OBD 2 diagnostic

no, just keep your mouth shut let them smog it, they don't care as long as your EGR works and cat is installed they just want you in and out

WTF are you talking about.
if light stays on you fail inspection.
they always turn off the car and see if the CEL light gets illuminated when turning the key in position.

if it doesnt get lit up, that means you took out the bulb. FAIL.

another trick is to wire up your CEL light to the oil light.

hope it works for you.

good luck.

I've always been told that a knock sensor code won't throw a CEL. Mine sure doesn't.

have you even read the codes from the ECU? it might be your EGR valve common KA24E problem...u best fix the EGR if you want to get it smogged...they will test it with a vacuum pump to see if its working
