Thats the example graph, lol. Your results are further down the page. It should give you a chart with one dot on it and a numerical finding like this:
Economic Left/Right: x.xx Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: y.yy

Economic Left/Right: 2.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.13 Right there with Jose Zapatero, PM of Spain. I thought I'd be more conservative, but I guess religion is a part of that. An agnostic conservative lol

Not really what I expected, pretty accurate considering how dissatisfied I have been with how things are run.

I like how no significant political figure is in the lower right quadrant. Also, this test is ridiculously easy to see through and I question the efficacy of "strongly disagree/disagree/agree/strongly agree" especially with some of the wording of the questions. An interesting test, but meh on efficacy. Last edited by Icy13; 12-28-2009 at 08:44 PM.. Reason: not that I am complaining, I like Ghandi, Nelson, and the Dalai Lama |

I question the authenticity of this picture
sure, everyone wants to call Bush a Fascist, but did he really abuse his powers like a fascist would.... only a little, but to say he's more right wing more fascist than Berlusconi is a stretch

The placement of those figures on the chart are done by independent groups not associated with the site. The chart is measuring political views. They're placing his political philosophy, not what he did or how he acted, on the chart.
Each political figure has various independent evaluations outside of the site. They try very hard to remain as honest and neutral as possible, see their FAQ. I would say that this is pretty good general gauge of your political stand and would say that is way better than the famous "world's smallest political quiz" (see Criticism). I'm sure there are better evaluations out there but I would imagine they would be longer and not free...

Libertarian theoretically would be the closest to anarchy,
in that anarchy emphasizes no control at all. The libertarian doctrine (as i understand it), entails minimal social and economic regulation. In other words, less gov control/regulation as possible. Of course, extremes would probably short lived if they ever existed. About Bush, i dont think it was too far off. On a authoritarian/libertarian spectrum, the guy certainly veered more on the authoritarian side. He was a clear example of being a social conservative, albeit he did make some compromises (never made an attempt to ban abortion). Things like the patriot act indicated the nation was moving towards a police state. The cutting of federal funding towards stem cell research was certainly something done to appease the religious right. The guy is literally up there in the scales. As for the economic spectrum goes, i dont think he is that far to the right. Lets not forget his spending records, his almost intentional devaluation of the dollar, his non-condition bailout funds to gm/chrysler. Did he really do much to help businesses (other than halliburton)? Perhaps, but i can say im not convinced at this point. |
