D1GP Anaheim...Opinions
I personally thought it was poorly planed out and everything looked very last minute. I wasn't impressed with the layout at all and it seemed as if the whole thing was very drug out and there was too many other dumb things going on. Like I paid to see a drift event and not a bunch of stunt bikes or shifter carts on the track.
And the whole car show was very lame there were way cooler cars in the parking lot than in the event. Personally I would like my money back. Am I the only one that thinks this way?

uhh i didnt have to big of a problem with the drifting itself. But it did feel very last minute and dragged on. the shifter karts were cool to see because that was supporting a local track in riverside. My biggest problem was that the food situation was horrible. there were 3-4 food vendors with 40 minute line each and 5$ for a can of pepsi straight from cosco wtf!?
o and Fuck drift box

tell ya what I went and it sucked, the minute that I saw DUB magazine was there with their "DONKS" and other shit I almost turned and left.
I actually should have left,Swift car club had some hooker posing on a car and its all good for a Dub show but not a an import drift event.By the way I took my 6 year old daughter with me. Got there at 10:45 left at 1:00 |

It was the first drift venue i attended. It was like cool to see alot of nice cars. But just like ^^^ said. The gumball 3000 shit was retarded. I didnt pay to see a bunch of old rich white dudes tryin to do donuts to save there lives. And the karts felt like it was a last minute thing. The food situation was garbage. Like wickedjester sed. I was hungry as hell and i saw that like 30 min line to get a 15 dollar bag of kettle corn. I was overall pretty disapointed. Got there at like 12. and left by like 4. Oh well...

Leave it to Americans to add quantitative judging to a style based sport.

so no jdm judges? than its not real D1 imo. the US events dont usually count for the series right? just usually exhibitions ? Sounds like they just want to milk money since they know how popular drifting is here in teh US, they dont have to try soo hard to put on a good event, just enough to make it, and try to bring other crowds/styles into the event like how you guys say there was donk rides there etc..

I've heard this D1 was not an actual D1 event, it was actually HIN running a drift event under the D1 name.

Since this was my first actually D1 event it was kinda neat, but yes the 5 dollar drinks and shitty food situation.
I got sunburned as a mother and I was pissed that they brought the karts and bikes out twice. And that idiot with the R34 that attempted to drift....into the tires. But other then that I enjoyed seeing the Soarer in person and Team Orange. So for all who didn't go then good for you haha I have to agree with everyone else on the shitty last minute planning thing. And the dub shit and donks could have stayed the hell outta the event. Mraw I'm burnt and tired. |

formula d put on a better show, and is more entertaining. although the drifting was a lot better in d1, the course lay out seemed very last minute and poorly planned.
lol after the event was over, saito and kumakubo walked right in front of me while i was looking for someone. shitted a brick cause they kinda glanced at me like wtf? and i looked right past them. fml |

i heard the D in D1 actually stood for Donk/Dub 1.
honestly it wasnt even a D1, it was Dub Wars with drifting on the side.

Drift Box is not amused.
But seriously, the highlight for me was the Gumball 3000 guys. Some of those cars made my pants tighter. Although I will say, as media, they made it super convenient for us to do what we had to do. |
