Just bought a 95 s40sx that had been sitting for 5 years. Before i bought it the owner replaced the cap,rotor,plugs(ngk iridium) and wires. Also the front o2 sensor ,fuel pump and filter. i cleaned the gastank and put 5 gallons of fresh 91 in it .On first start it starts up pretty quick but you have to feather the throttle a little and once its started i have to keep light pressure on the throttle to keep it running. it runs smooth and fine off idle. After running the car to operating temp and shutting it off you have to crank the car for about 25 sec to get it to finally kick over and start. i dont have a consult but pulled codes with a generic scanner and it had a fault for front o2 sensor and tps sensor. neither have returned since clearing and running it but throught id just throw that info in there. i remember back in the day that the 2 pin coolant temp sensor can cause the not starting issue after warm and im guessing the idle air control valve probably needs to be cleaned. only main problem with that is the vehicle has abs and it makes it damn near impossible to get to. can you clean it while its still on the vehicle?

got engine hot and checked with scanner and found engine temp at 194 deg and measured the ohms at the sensor and i was at 230ohms according to the fsm that's right on. so my 2 wire temp sensor is good.

if you just try to start it cold it will only start with a little pedal( lightly opening the throttle) and it will start fairly quick . After warm you pretty much have to have the pedal all the way down for it to start and it takes 20 sec or so . ill be uploading a video and pics of what I have so far. Chain timing is on and dizzy timing is at its base spot - cant do a ignition timing because of the obvious.
