Hi I have a S14 sr20 and I need to know if I should gap my spark plugs. I have the Ngk Iridium plug BKR7EIX-11. I did a little searching and I found that the nkg BKR7EIX are gap at .030. I have the other one and trying to figure out if I should regap the one I have. The BKR7EIX-11 came pregapped a .044. I heard that you shouldn't regap them because you could break the tip and the ground off. The reason I trying to regap my plugs is because in cold weather when I get on it it start to rich pop at high rpm about 5000 to 7000. My friend told me to just regap the sparkplugs and that should fix it. Just not sure if I should buy new BKR7EIX or regap the old NGk.

You need to figure out if your car is blowing out the spark because its too rich, or if its blowing out the spark because it has too big of a gap,

.030 should be cool. if its just blowing out the spark bring em down to .028


Also what psi, and power are you making?

Considering that your car is braking up in higher rpms, with full load allready ensued upon the motor. Then it leads me to believe that you should either run a smaller gap, and fire your tuner.

It a stock motor with a exhuast and a front mount and a boost controller 10psi. I think it just blowing the spark out. I'm nerves about regaping them because I heard that you shouldn't gap iridium plug and that it weakens the groung and there a chase of it breaking off in the engine. The plug came gap at .44 witch seem a little high. I haven't had any problem during the summer but now that it getting colder it been doing the poping thing. I just not sure if I should just get new plugs
