New Hippo Sleek kit for s13
Does anyone know where I can get this kit in the US? It is Hippo Sleek D-Pad type II. I've been looking for a quality made professional -->"DRIFT_ STYLE"<-- 180sx kit .. (i.e. not combat or JDM /nismo style) where all the lines are straight, clean, and and flow evenly around the car... Here it is, now how can I get one? I don't wanna pay ridiculus importing fees from Japan, so I was hoping JSpec, bulletproof, Intense motorsports could help me out..but I don't see this kit listed anywhere. I'm hoping the JDM 180sx position lights and turn signals will fit in the bumper.

WTF is "Drift Style"! Stupid commercialization. That's like saying "I want a baseball style Jockstrap".

wow, what a bunch of smartasses. Thanks for the help and great advice.
I said "drift style" as a personal term used to describe the sleek straight looking kits as the use in drifting. As oppossed to the oem jdm look (nismo or kouki) or gay ass combat looking kits as alot of people have. (i.e. veilside) It wasn't anything to get all smartass about. I intend to have flush fitting wheels with my kit. What's all this crap about how it makes you drift? I'll make MY car how I want it and drive it how I want to. Going from the maturity of your posts, I probably have more driving experience than most of you put together, and I can prolly drift better than most of you can drive... but that isn't what this thread is about, so how about growing up a lil bit and stop being jerks. S14falcon, I mean body lines, angles and creases that have an even flow around the car and look like they belong. Alot of kits just don't seem to match the s13 bodyline well. But of course I also want a kit with good fit/finish. Anyway, the original question was who can import this kit for me at a good price... |

goddamn what the hell is going on with this forum? the dude asked a simple question on how to get a rare kit, and like 5 people need to rip on him...ridiculous. yea, he could have probably searched and contacted a bunch of distributors, but whatever, you guys just turned it into yet another thread of bashing and post-whoring. whoop dee doo
back on topic, i do not know of how many companies that stock HippoSleek. try contacting jspec, other places that import, i'm sure they can get it for you, just a matter of what price. |

I can't help you with importing the hipposleek kit, but have you looked into maybe msports or vertex? They both have better support in the us, so the price will be lower because you wont have to personally import them, and I like them both more than the hipposleek, but thats a matter of personal preference.

Believe me I've searched. I've seen almost all of them, The hiposleek is the one I like. nuff said. I'm just trying to avoid being raped by the few companies who import them from Japan. So if anyone recommends a good reputable company please lemme know. Iggy, tew photty, Thanks, I will ck with rare trick and jspec. I know they did not have the kit listed on their site, but I'll see if they can special order it. I would just rather avoid paying the extra premium for ordering a special kit if I can find a place that already gets that particular one. BTW, how much is it to ship a kit cross the pond? |

Anytime you try to get one part shipped you are going to get raped.
Talk like a ricer, get treated like one.

I suggest you go with a Vertex kit. I'm not saying this just because I sell Vertex I'm saying it because I've seen it in person and it looks hot. That's the only aerokit I would put on the S13 fastback.
But if you insist on the Hippo Sleek...contact http://www.raretrick.com or check out http://www.takakaira.com/

Cool....well I forgot to mention jspec.com , but be advised that its going to be EXPENSIVE and your going to have to wait (weeks..even months) to get the aerokit. Sorry, but I can not give you a price on shipping or the price of the kit. But expect to pay $200+ on shipping stateside.

Everyone is on your ass for the whole drift style thing. Anything is drift style. What you think of as drift style is really just kouki style. Look at a lot of the US cars, they are sponsored by bomes, if you consider that drift style too, then everything that looks good is drift style.
You sound as dumb as those cheap body kit makers that have a drift kit for cars like Eclipses and crap. And most ugly/ "non-drift" kits do wrap around the body and match, they just look ugly. If you had simply asked where can I get Hippo Sleek you would have gotten more positive responses. Then to go off and assume that S14DB can't drive becuase of his comment which is clearly valid. Labeling things as "drift (insert part)" usually intend that it helps you drift in some way. Now for people who can get it, I don't beleive anyone in the US has it sitting in there shop, therefore you will have to pay rediculous importing fees unless you gain enough backing for a GB, in which case it will most likely fail due to the cheap price of version:Select, AIT, and soon to be Origin. Which brings me to my next point, I suggest buying a version Select body kit, cheap, already in the US, looks good, hold up well while drifting, perfect for the drifter on a budget, and Hippo Sleek will not be. For more info go to www.versionselect.com or buy at www.tougefactory.com.

Wow, "DRIFT STYLE" really strikes a nerve wit you guys j/k
I didn't know y'all were so sensitive :ghey: It was just my words of choice to describe the STYLE of kits I see most on s13's that are professionally DRIFTING. Just kiddin'-really.No offense intended. When I think Kouki, I think stock looking newer 180sx. And I'm not trying to replicate stock JDM. Anyway, yeah that Version Select III front mixed with the Version I sides and rear DOES look *almost* as good as the Hippo Sleek type II~ but not as crisp and still has a mix/match look so the lines don't flow quite right. It is like you say a great alternative for kits available stateside and I may consider one if unable to get the real thing. It seems to be high quality and at $850/kit a bargain compared to importing. Thanks for the info. |

Dude what with all the hating, if you not answering his question why the hell bother posting in the first place. He didnt ask for an opinion of the kit so dont waste space posting it. If you want to jack off on Zilvia do it in off topic. Furthur more stop trying to take the thread off topic and belittle people to up your internet ego's, that f'n lame. It was a simple f'n question to ask who can get the HippoSleek kit he posted, if you don't know just continue to pass by with your thumbs up your asses.
ANyways back on topic. If you do want rarer stuff, you WILL have to pay importing and shipping fees, you must pay to play the game. Not many people will stock a kit that doesn't appeal to the general community. Best chance is to deal with someone that does consistent containers from Japan like bulletproof.

hehe I was dreaming last night about how I could smuggle one on the airplane. I'll just fly over and get it ... yeah sounds simple enough (I fly free) But that is just so risque' I dunno anything about Norita's airport security, and if I would be allowed onto the ramp with my ATL/ Airline badge. But I could just tape up the kit in some foam and write save for mechanic" " at ATL airport and stow it in the bulk cargo (as if it were my tools). The only other problem would be how would I clear customs with it under my arm .
Just kiddin. That would be sooo sweeet, but I'm not ready to get fired or arrested for a body kit. Why can they not air freight body kits anyway, they aren't hazardous or heavy, just delicate...if packaged properly they should make the trip. |

I just wanna add that I really like your taste. That is a sexy kit on that car. very subtle, and low key.
These guys are right though. It will be unbelievably expensive to get it here. Good luck.
