That was done professionally, and cost more than normal paint. And the reflective qualities of the vinyl still make it seem like something is not right, at least to me.

My Vinyl is cracking on the roof.


getting a new kit soon,
5 lug and going flush,
coil overs,
and a new vinyl plan.

first, gotta pay $1500 in tickets this month to keep my tabs up.


Lotta trash talking in this thread still.
people just get mad they get ignored while cheap vinyl cars get attention.
The vinyl just makes sense for a drift car.
kinda like cheap paint jobs make sense for sprint cars.
Both front fenders have been broken in half 5 times each and repaired and vinyled.
Front bumper broken in 4 pieces and put back together.

most guys that hate vinyl also dont drift their cars regularly. (3 times a year isnt drifting)

The shop that painted my car quoted a friend 5-6k the other day for a full repaint.


Then my friend went to Sticker City in Van Nuys and was quoted 3k for a vinyl wrap.

I made fun of him for even considering vinyl. Deep inside, he knew he was being stupid for even considering it.

if people get mad about seeing a vinyl wrapped 240, its not because their jealous. you're delusional if you think you're correct. they're just disappointed that the stupidity could spread this far.

Parking tickets for the last 2 years.
a couple of them are from shitty independent films i worked on. They were supposed to pay them and months later i get some shit in the mail that its in collections.

I don't mean attention in the sense you think.
maybe its more of a recognition thing.
People that spend all there time and money building cars with the best parts and the best work HATE when cars like mine and other drift missles get attention.
I think its natural. but people need to remember that its all about what your goals are.

i dont go talk shit about guys buying brand name parts. (If someones drifting i suggest cheaper stuff, especially since its such a passing fad for most.)

i try and explain this time and time again.
EVERY MONTH, I break fenders or bumpers by hitting cars in tandem, cutting a clipping point to tight or scrapping the back wall.
Do you not remember the mess my car looked like before i went all fiberglass and vinyl??

You know that no one should be throwing money away repainting a car with a real paint job every month right??

they have beautiful cars, but they see the track about twice a year.

And the idea of beating the shit out of the car while you learn how to drift.

Drifting is supposed to be fun.

So I think sparkle vinyl is fun.
Drinking redbull and blasting motley crue and slayer while driving is fun.
sliding around corners is fun.
grinding my bumper off on the back wall is fun.
strobe lights are fun
my helmet matching my car is fun.
drifting once or more a month is fun.



having the car sit in the garage for months on end so i can get a "proper" paint job for the forum people,.....not fun at all.

Also you can not do as good of a job as those guys if you use the right tools and take your time because none of us are using the same type of vinyl. Look at how much he is stretching it. You can not even come close to stretching the stuff we have been buying like that. Hence why that most likely cost 3k range.

i could easily go to walmart, pick up a 99 cent can of spray paint, and cover my s13 in swastikas. i would get infinitely more attention than your bedazzled ride.
but i understand your reason for using vinyl. it's the other 95% of the glittercars that never see any action that bother me.

I love atention whore vinyl wrapped drift cars...If its done right...Some loook like shit...those are usually the ones that never see the track...Or are almost stock..lmao...the total track sluts that are beat to shit and coverd are dope in there own weird way imo

I have a friend who vinyls alot of the industry/drift cars... If you do get the super high quality vinyl made to wrap autos - it can easily exceed $1000. Bill is right, it takes a really great quality product to stretch that much and then hold shape when shrunk onto the car. They kind of take a hit on labor (its still alot) because if they charged normal rates for the time it takes to do an entire car, people would at that point just revert to a decent paint job.

For a great, proper vinyl job - it will range around 3-4k.

If I had a drift car, especially if I were a n00b who was hitting stuff and cars all the time, just spray can! Well either that or hit up the local Earl Scheib....

single color vinyl will stretch like a motherfucker where as glitter or chrome vinyl will barely stretch if at all. But the better the quality the better it will stretch.

buying large quantities of materials directly from a manufacturer greatly reduces the costs of business. you will also notice the size of their rolls are a lot wider than we can get through ebay.

my cars fading. all the parts that get hit directly by sunlight turned into some kinda emerald green. but then in pics, its still all matching. idk. cheap korean vinyl. give it a few more months and it'll turn chrome glitter. lol
