quick sketch i did.. 180sx successor.
I've been experimenting with sketching in Photoshop...
Still have ALOT to learn, but thought I'd share my latest 10min sketch... I'm trying to define what characterizes the 180SX and integrate those design paradigms into a successor that could theoretically come to market around 2010. I wanted this car to instantly be recognizable as a 180sx. What do you guys think?

I'd buy it.
Too bad it wouldn't have gangster fitting wheels like that. |

i like how you incorporated the fender lines of a z33's front end but mixed it in w/ what looks like the door lines of an altima coupe... correct me if i'm wrong....
its very nice... a concept worth considering.....

id buy it, i've said it before, but the successor meant to compete with the a3, bmw 1 series that infiniti is suppose to release should be a 180sx, taking it's retro style and modernizing it, refining it. I would definetely buy your car... screw the fancy designs theyre coming out with... they need a refined/modernized 180sx car.. i wish theyd pay u to design it like that lol i swear... that is awesome imho... Nissan please listen to us lol.
We could always make this posted on every nissan forum and make a petition it could probably happen. Im' sure if they were SMART they would LISTEN to the fans. |

This looks an awful lot like the sketch from subaru. They are working with toyota to make a new rwd coupe... http://news.windingroad.com/wp-conte.../04/subyhl.jpg
As found on the winding road page. Im not saying it doesn't look good. I would sport one. Just looks like you copied this one and changed minor things in it. I.E.. tails and such. to reflect more a nissan car.

^This looks like $HIT in my opinion.... it looks like ford mondeo or ford escort or something HELL NO. Bushido's modern 180sx sketch ftw Actually I am a computer animation grad, drawing, painting, etc... is my sort of thing... I've worked on a couple of game projects freelance as well... but I just ended up married and went for the IT field instead (quick money lol). I have a trained eye, and honestly looking at both, the only resemblance is that both are 3 door hatches of sorts. The side door lines are completely dif, lights completely dif, EVERYTHING completely dif. UGLY It looks more like a ford and subaru put together. Fail at life drawing. If the perspectives were fixed up a lil bit you would have a WINNER I swear to God this is something I would honestly really really want in production... its perfect and would make the wholy s chassis fanbase and potential s chassis fan base ULTRA happy (money money money mr nissan). If I wasn't lazy to whip out my tablet and fire up photoshop lol... id fix her up.... actually i might (I want to start a side business media related so lolz i need some practice been two years since i drew anything). I could even 3d model it... if I was still in high school/college i would have already jumped in on this and done it for him lol (3d modeling it after fixing the drawing)... and you know what now that im talking about it i kinda feel tempted :P... That is if nissan paid us him for initial concept and me for final/fixed concept + 3d model concept lol It has modern 180sx all over it man... It's inspirational... |

That looks simply amazing. Especially the tailights, they look completely modern but at the same time are instantly recognizable as 180SX tails. And the really brilliant part is, I don't think it would look out of place in the current Nissan lineup.
Too many of the "professional" design interpretations I've seen for the new Silvia/whatever either look good, but simply wouldn't work given Nissan's current global design theme, or are thoroughly modern designs, but are flat out ugly. A+ for satisfying both needs. |
