This, however, i'd take it one step further and say it's not always the cheap "upgrades" that make a car ricey... There's a lot of rice in the implementation also.

You can have legit items being used to make a car ricey when the car as a whole just becomes too much...

"Ricer" refers to the driver. I usually attribute it to the people that act like idiots, try to "40 roll" everyone they see, and think doing burn outs everywhere is cool even though they have to hold the brake to accomplish it. In short, it's the immature mentality.

Ricing a car out, to me, is a lot of what's mentioned above. :lol:

I believe the originality and individualization is great so even if I don't like the way a car is particularly done, I can appreciate it the effort in it so I don't jump to "ricer".

I think rice is when you try to make a car something that it is not. For example.... STI badge on a WRX. Or it is when modifications are half-assed....rice.

Honda civic with fake Turbo baffle, chrome sideskirts, chrome accents, stupid Aero wing that's facing the wrong way and is half the size of the car and is painted like 10 different colors.....oh yeah and clear tail lights with chrome trim
