iirc they issue you a ticket that basically makes your registration invalid until you pass a smog check. not a ref ticket, just you hafta go pass smog.

Yeah I saw a few of these thing in 714 area alot they do it about once a month. last time i saw it was just a month ago in the garden grove area... north Korean district lol

i saw this about 2 months ago in downey near warren highschool. on paramount. i didnt know what it was and i just drove by it... with my blast pipes... LUCKILY didnt get pulled over!

they decided to get a civic instead. phew !

If you go through in a modded car, and they want to smog it, and you refuse, one of the cops on scene will just pull you over, make you pop your hood, find the reason why you refused, and issue a REF ticket if he finds goodies.

I've been lucky all the times I've been through checkpoints.

If I saw the sign for something like that I'd take the first side street and take another route to my destination. A cop I met said they almost always give you a way out and thats what he recommended I do.
