Help with VLSD rear cover

Hi guys,

I picked up a VLSD out of a 92 HICAS car for my open diff'd 89 coupe. Its only the differential not the pumpkin. Do I need a rear cover from a VLSD equipped car to put on my open diff pumpkin? Will a cover from a NA (R200) 300zx work?

Thanks,
Dan

Any cover should work - not sure about the z32 one though, never tried it. The VLSD cover has cooling fins, that's about the only physical difference when compared to open diff covers.

Thanks for the information.

Not that is matters but isn't the diff cover from a VLSD equipped car also aluminum?

91-94 covers have 4 bolt studs 95-98 have 2 bolt studs the z32 and j30 rear covers are also 2 bolt studs as well. just use your cover off of your open diff that your using on your car now.

All diff covers are aluminum.

S13s use 4bolt, S14, S15, J30, Z32, R32, R33, R34 use 2bolt.

Your open diff cover is the same thing as the VLSD unit.
