i dont know wtf its wrong with it,it doesnt have audio and the main menu that comes in the beginning doesnt come up no more ,any ideas

How do you have it hooked up? To what? Have you checked the audio settings?

it was playing normal then today i turned it on and no audio or main menu

turn it on holding the power button til it beeps, it will defualt the audio and video.. just set up again. happens to me when i switch between a hdmi tv and analog tv

speaking of ps3. i finally updated my firmware to 2.42, i've read on the us.playstation forums that some people had problems with the update. i forgot what it was, but i think it was either the ps3 wouldn't read the disc[mainly towards warhawk and cod4], the sound quality was messed up. i never encountered these problems though.

some people had probs updating when 2.4 came out when they went to xmb... failed updates bricked the systems.. no probs here.

i wouldnt mind a 360 had i known u could easily play backups... but u could buy a cheap used red ringed 360 on ebay and fix it.

but i like my ps3 no complaints.

Ditto, got a Ps3 80gig and no complaints. I love it, just bought an intercooler for it. OMFG BUY ONE OF THESE IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE ONE! 21 dollars goes a long way to prolong a 500$+ piece of hardware.

My room is soooooo much cooler now and the Ps3 stays at a much better temp.

my only complaints is i got the 40gb unit which doesnt play ps2 games and there are a few games id like to finish. i got a ps2 but no analog tv in my room as i play the ps3 thru my pc monito via hdmi chorde.

Fucking playstation 3. I upgraded it and boom, i cant use my wireless controller. Next upgrade the shit stalls out and wont turn on. Try it three days later, turns on upgrades and is all good.

My 250gb notebook sarta HDD is in the mail. Got it for a cool 85 bucks thanks to a friend.

Hm, never noticed my Ps3 making noises, guess I got used to it haha. And yeah, that interactive globe on a huge HD tv is fucking epic.

The fan noise from the intercooler, it just sounds like a small fan so it isn't that bad.

its all about getting movies off BT on my comp in my room upstairs, then streaming them over my wireless to my 360 on my big screen in the living room. can you do that kinda stuff with a ps3?

yah you can it will pick up media servers.. i if i leave a bittorrent program open, it will appear on the ps3, but i never tried it because im using my pc monitor on my ps3 lmao

on ur ps3 its in the same catagory as the internet browser. stanford university uploads data packets to computers to decompose the data and send the findings back to stanford to review if there is any useful findings that could help find a cure for cancer deseases etc. theres people all over the world who donate thier computers ability to do this in the background etc..

sony incorperated this as a option you could do with ur ps3.. its for a good cause.
