Are you bringing up that quote saying the Heat is an established team? I thought we where not yet established (like Chicago) and a depleted team? Hmmmm....

pretty sure the NBA will come up with a way to block all these top tier players joining the same team after what LBJ, Bosh and Wade did though.
I doubt it. If anything they helped what happened by raising the cap. They love the ratings it would bring too. We know David Stern loves his big rating draws. Any guesses as to what the Christmas day game will be?

No, I think he brought the quote up to be taken on the whole, that LeBron "committed" to going the distance in Cleveland and that he would not run about the league chasing rings. While I STILL contend that Miami is not yet a contender until I see them prove that they are, having half the Eastern Conference All Star starting 5 is an enviable position, even if you DO look on it with the assessment that they're pretty much ALL Miami has to this point.
Basically to show that LeBron is not as honest, humble or smart as he is pretending to be. Yes, he is getting huge money, yes he becomes a built-in contender by all prognostication, BUT he doesn't care about the contendership as much as he KNOWS he is supposed to tell us he is while we don't question it. LeBron is about Brand LeBron, and if he has built it this effectively without a championship, then he he would be fine to go on without it.
That is where this becomes fun. There are so many holes in the shit he is and has said, the pretentious-ass "announcement," the collusion, the actions contrary to the above-quoted and more. All this is so damning to what he HAD going for him with the same media that he was once the darling of, that he now MUST win at least 3 (in my opinion) rings before he is done. That being said, he would need to be the clear leader of this team en route to be fully redeemed, but if the 2006 finals and that game against Boston this year is any indication, we can put an F on that, this is and will be D-Wade's team, he can carry a team of bums and in such has earned the leader's chops.

Dammit, I am not blogging basketball again until the season is coming closer!

Big z into the heat?

THe way I see it zone; one in lock on Kobe and 2 inside and one on rotation.. Really depends on the game , but they can do it.

Yes sir, Zydrunas Ilgauskas to Miami Heat. I expect more jersey burnings by Cavs fans and another angry letter from Dan Gilbert in Comic Sans font.

Kobe is set to meet with Raja Bell tomorrow. If there was a person who could convince a
player to come to LA, it would be Kobe Bryant. Imagine a line-up of Kobe/Artest/Bell. What a
defensive force that will be.

If I were Bell, I would take the offer the Lakers are giving him (even Barnes, if they offer him a contract.
Barnes wanted to get paid in Orlando, but he didn't get what he wanted. If Barnes doesn't accept
the offer (if he gets one), and if Bell doesn't sign, I expect them to negotiate with McGrady. He was the
#1 paid NBA player last season, and he's made plenty of money in his career, so I'm sure he'll
accept any deal offered to him, as he wants a ring before he retires.

Fisher was NEVER leaving the Lakers in the first place.

I'm liking the Laker's rookies so far (Caracter and Ebanks). They're #1 and #3 in the NBA
Vegas Summer League so far (http://www.nba.com/rookieladder/?ls=iref:nbahpt1).
Ebanks reminds me of a Trevor Ariza type player, and he even looks like him a bit. Caracter can
play down low, but he's still a bit undersized at 6'9", but I can tell he'll be a great fit in LA in
the next couple seasons, since Phil never plays rookies.

Big Z to the Heat is a solid move, but they need someone in the paint who can bang, and Z isn't
that type of player. He usually sits outside in the perimeter and shoots 3's all day.

I didn't think Josh Childress would come back to the NBA considering he was the highest paid player in the Euroleague. That's a good move for him. I went to high school with him and his younger brother.

Yes! That is what I meant. There are superstars and there are great players that usually surround the superstar on that team. Usually there are not two superstars on one team! So I guess Lebron was like maybe I can't lead a team to a championship by myself so I might as well ring chase.

Knowing that he's #2 and not #1 on the team or maybe he already knows that he's not the clutch player superstar/closer that everyone makes him out to be and doesn't mind being a sidekick. Using all this "I'm going to be a team player and join Miami to contend for a championship." as cover to so people don't think what he already knows. Whatever, I'm sure a lot of fans, including myself, knows that he is a coward and unable to lead a team on his own with his decision to play for Miami.

i know, cp3 isn't coming to the warriors, but we can hope just like the knicks fans can.

any new ownership is better than chris cohan, unless it turns out to be another cheap owner like robert sarver.

who cares about warriors draft pick this year. another twig, and another bust. warriors management's final big fuck you to the fans. they should have went for monroe, but passed on him and detroit intelligently picked him up.

would like to see mcgrady go to heat, but i think he has nothing left and will be a bad signing since he'll be on the bench / life support all year. griffin is supposedly to be like chris webber? i want to see that, but bd is going to drag the team down.
