vg30de/tt question

how are you guys doing. i own a 240 but have been given the opporturnity to get a 300zx NA for a good price my question is - if i turbo an NA vg30de would it still be able to handle as much power as an original vg30dett? are all the internals the same except 1 is a TT and the other is NA? or would you have to modify internals on the NA to get it to TT motor standards because i know the vg30dett can handle around 600hp on stock motor from what i have read here in the z chassis section.

thank you guys in advance and i hope im not repeating a question someone has already asked

the general rule for the NA VG is that you don't turbo them, they have a relatively high compression and different internals than the TT block. that being said, too much boost on those motors and they're bound to give out sooner or later, ive read on NICO that there arent that many succesful attempts at turboeing the VG30DE.

-As far as the stock power out-put from the NA motor (of course depends on its condition), i liked it, i owned one for about 2 years, i loved it, wasn't the fastest thing in the world, but had enough grunt to put a smile on my face. People often complain about the car being heavy, which is true, don't get me wrong, it is heavy. But they feel relatively nimble, although they do have some understeer when coming in to a corner too hot (understandable for a car with a big cast iron block up front)....Over all though i loved it, mine ran like a champ and gave me absolutely no problems ever. Im even debating selling my 13 to get another z32

thanks for the quick response i appreciate it. would you happen to know the stock hp on the vg30de?
has anyone here tried drifting an NA 300zx? if so how did it work for you? like? dislike? also is there anything you would say would be good to do or pay attention to before drifting it?

as far as i remember stock hp was 210 or 220, something like that...heck yeah you could drift it, just feels a lil different than an s-chassis, i liked it just fine...i wouldn say there is anything that you need to do to it before drifting it, just make sure you get a feel for it, but thats just like with anything else...ive owned s13, s14 and can say in my personal experience that 13's and 14's are a bit easier to manage, but thats just me...

there are a couple downsides to z32's as oppossed to s-chassis, for instance price of repair/parts are a bit more, just about negative room in the engine bay, as said before a substancial wieght difference, random things z's are prone to

but all in all i absolutely loved mine, theres truly nothing like them IMO..and if you wanna drift it, do it lol....there are alot of people oppossed to drifting z32's (NICO forums lol) ..then there are some who can hang with the best and sort of set a standard for z32's (arcticdragon)
