CH#'s 6666 customs (not just the wing) ELL ESS POWER S13 pic heavy build thread
27FEB Update: So the last update said something like "Car is totally done" etc etc. Well.. truth is. That's an issue for me. A car is never done.. besides the fact that I lost a lot of track time dealing with shit power steering pumps and shit alternators.. The fact that I cannot go to the dealer or autoparts store and pick up a BRAND new part for an RB is a huge issue when youre talking about reliability, it wasn't cutting it. Id like to be able to compete. Cant do that is I don't know if I can get the car fixed and back on the track in a timely manner. So I did it. Most of you will probably criticize it but I am posting this on here for informational purposes only. Now I will say. Ive been planning and acquiring information and parts for about 3 months now. Prior to, I knew dick about American motors. So if you have any questions about the swap or the parts used hit me up on email [email protected] SKIP TO LAST PAGE FOR FULL UPDATE WITH PIXZORS update...... car. totally done. 1 in 10 builds follow through till the very end wel here you have it. more pics to come... but a quick look... car is running at its peak right now. melting my face at a cool 20psi right about maxing out my injectors and maf. coolant temperature a solid 180* . dont even have to run the fan at 50+mph. oil temperatures always below coolant at a solid 170* . oil pressures at idle a healthy 35psi at NOT compared to the 9 i was getting before. af ratios on point. i drove the car over an hour on the interstate with zero issues. throttle tip in a little weird but very streetable. this is a solid car all around and that was my goal. great success! Ok. I’m finally doing it. I had several requests to write up a build thread. I usually don’t like build threads because with most, progress is slow going. I wanted to wait until I could see the end in sight so that shortly after posting, the car would be running and driving. The story: I love building cars. I’ve done so since I was 14. I started working on 240s when my brother blew his up at 11. My uncle was a 16 Nissan Master Tech. So it was fate, basically. At age 14, my brother hooked me up with a clean shell. Did a CA swap, new suspension, wheels, etc etc. By the time I was 18 I parted it out. It was at 300whp with an S15 T28, megasquirt, DSM 450cc etc etc. I parted it out and joined the military. Upon return, I built another S13. With help from my Papi Chulo at J3 Drift Lab, I knocked out an RB25 swap in a few days with full suspension etc. Shortly after I saw any track time I had to sell the car due to financial issues. 2 years later with a bunch of money saved up plus a deployments worth of money saved up, I decided to build another car. With intent that its my last. I wanted to build a well rounded, multipurpose car. Comfortable enough to drive on the streets. Completely capable of getting raped on event weekends. Im not a supporter of cheap and knock off parts so I didn’t use any. The xxr wheels are the only thing and they are only track wheels. Once the car is done and I know how it looks I will start searching for a nice set of wheels. So feel free to talk shit haha. The parts list is too long to list but Its basically an S13 hatch Engine: Completely refreshed, reassembled RB25 NEO ARP headstuds Cosworth Head gasket All new seals and gaskets N1 water pump Tomei 260* 9.15mm lift Cams Real Greddy intake manifold/ Q45 throttle JGY top feed fuel rail RX7 550cc injectors SplitFire coilpacks Custom top mount ceramic coated T3 manifold 44mm Tial WG Garrett single ball GT30 ish turbo Custom Downpipe Vibrant Venturi Crankcase vent system Custom 2.5” thick Copper radiator OS Giken Twinplate clutch URAS solid shifter Chasebays Powersteering Tomei 2 way adjustable LSD Tuned with emanage ultimate until someone finds me an RB25 NEO Power FC!! Suspension: R.Y.O. Hi MAX II Coilovers PBM RLCA PBM RUCA PBM Traction PBM Toe PBM SubFrame Risers PBM FLCA/Tension Rods Dual Z32 Rear Caliper Brackets ASD 16” Hand brake StopTech 13” BBK up front Body: Full 6666 customs GT Rodeo Kit 6666 Silvia front fenders 6666 Wing Origin Takadashi 30mm rear overs Silvia Bricks with CS corners GTR grill That’s the main things. There are a lot of little things. The car will be stock interior with a harness bar, RYO 5 point and Kirkey Bucket for now. Will see how the 2012 drift season goes for me. Now for pics. I jump around a bit due to waiting on parts and doing what I can with what I have. So bear with me a little. Its in chronological order not a logical order. Haha. Shell. As I received it. Completely stock. Slightly damaged core support. Super clean interior. Core Support cut for tube front. The Neo as it say for 9 months while I was deployed last year. Freshly redone with hg, headstuds, greddy t belt, n1 water pump, and all new seals/gaskets. Finally, mock up of turbo setup Tomei Cams. Done with the motor for now.. Thanks to the guys at Enjuku Racing for this one. 6666 customs and Origin goodies I waited 2 months for is here.. Its all made by origin lab anyway.. As I wait for Cage Dave to do his thing and wait for a few parts to drop the motor in, I did the rear subframe/suspension My shelf of parts waiting on me R.Y.O. HiMaxII Subframe stripped, inspected, and painted. PBM risers installed. Knuckles blasted. Dual Caliper bracket pressed onto hub and assembled. Suspension assembled.. pics say enough Picked up a Grab Bag Special 2 way from our local Japan importer. Ended up being a freshly broken in Tomei 2 way with fresh fluid.. The sticker was inside too!! Sike.. Overs fitted and riveted. 6666 wing installed. It is a real wing but was not happy with the fitment. Took A LOT of work. Was time to drop the motor in with the arrival of some crucial parts. OS giken twin plate Trans mount was shit. Semi bolted in for now. Itll do. Coil cover is sandblasted not painted white. Still waiting to decide what will be done with it at this point. Yes. Using stock clutch fan. Yes it fits. Next up was front suspension/brakes/wheels. Went with a metallic purple for the wheels. Used a durable single stage automotive paint in an aerosol can. Cost me 45 for 2 cans. 1 can did 3 entire wheels. This is max camber with 27mm spacing. Later on Ill pull the camber back out a little and lower bout an inch or so more. The fronts are on stock LCAs/knuckles for now hence the spacers.. Waiting on PBM.. The rear on the other hand didn’t need any spacers because I have the RLCAs extended. Fitment wont be where I want it until the alignment is down. Still at neg. camber in the rear Thought this was cool. Backside of one of my front fenders. No.1… Cage Dave got started on the front end. Came to the shop with a tape measure and a piece of scratch paper. Came back with this. Fitment was unbelievable. More on the front end later.. Hood in. Fitment and quality was GOOD. Extreme dimensions.. Vent could’ve been a little more forward too but it’ll do.. Bricks fitted for Daves mental measurements. Current State of engine bay. Have a lot of work left but I am a the shop everyday working on this thing so updates will be regular. Stripped the paint off the radiator end cap. Ended up liking the look of the Copper. Just me I guess That’s it for now. Cars come a long way in 2 months. Hopefully getting it running and driving for April 1st event. Before commenting realise that most of this stuff is mocked up. So the engine bay obviously looks like a mess. Alignments way out. not a completed car to say the least. Last edited by ch1873857; 03-07-2014 at 10:16 AM.. |

I have no real NEED to go 5 lug right now. why spend the money if I don't have to? When the time comes for wheels, if i need to go 5 lug i will. It will be quite easy to change over. cost wise. The bbk was already 4 lug and bought it brand new for cheap from a zilvia member. its not like I went out of my way for 5 lug parts.
And if you dont mind me asking why would it NEED "g ass wheels" Quote:

define "g ass wheels" waiting for someone to tell me. expensive? lip? offset? still trying to find the right wheel. doesn't even have to be that low offset. +15 10j would be flush on this car due to its widened track. not a fan of lipped wheels. shit id be happy with rpf1s. i don't mind expensive but im not buying "g ass wheels" because of a price. i want lightweight . fitment . cheap tires (17s). no lip. 4 lug preferred. 5 if need be. originally was going to go with some XD9s or rpf1s . but you guys make it seem like i need some crazy set of wheels.

Something that Warrants Putting a Wide fendered 6666 Aero parts on. hence: anything other than Brota/XXR/Knockoff wheels. I Love the Build man and even Agree with your 4 lug comment (if you don't need them,oh well) but It would be like me with my Full REAL BN Sports Aero shipped from japan (and taken 3+ months) and then put some damn Cragar Classic's on it! Keep it up man.Subscribed For sure and hope to See some Ballin Wheels on it one day.

Actually its not as bad as it looks the frame rails in the rear are in tact. What is showing is just surface rust (from what i can see) I will further investigate when I get the car on the lift tonight. funny you said something. You can only really see it with the camera flash at least its the first time i noticed. There isnt any other rust on the car fortunately.
