Yea when I did the stainless my travel speed was pretty fast and I was pulse like 33ppm so the heat affected zone was narrower, honestly I have no more then tops 30 hours on my machine if that, I'm still learning torch angel and getting familiar with what the puddle is doing but its fun I see myself getting better with my time, in the beginning I was frustrated just trying to get the coordination and get steady but its getting easier with time.

I weld stainless as little as possible, i don't like working with it. Sucks to cut, expensive and needs to be back purged. My exhaust is made out of 4inch aluminum.

looks like your torch hand is shakey or your holding it too far away. get a thick glove and choke up on the torch to keep the electrode closer.

What tungstens do you guys prefer. I seem to like the e3 purple rod for aluminum. Seems its a good well rounder and can be used for alot of material. I just cant seem to dial in my stainless with red or purple tungsten. Its probably because my argon was set too high at that time. Will run some beads tomorrow and see what happens.

Tungsten doesn't seem to make a huge difference on inverter machines. I use anything but green no problem.

This is a repair I did on my exhaust system to eliminate an exhaust clamp that shouldn't have been there (but that's another story) and this is stainless steel and the other 2 pipes are GTi-R compressor outlet pipes made of mild steel

A new table for my drillpress, machined on my endmill;

Another S13 cage;

I copied this trailer latch pin on my lathe and made a ring out of stainless filler rod;

I made an adapter for brembos to a 300zx front spindle from a billet of T6 aluminum and used helicoils in the threaded holes to accept factory bolts;

And these are my two drift toys, I decided to copy the green S13 in the back and then leave out all the crap that isnt needed. The Coyote was the result, a 1100 pound 250hp monster with zero chassis flex. That is probably my biggest single fab project to date...

I build them with a 1JZ ready to run and drive for about $20k but just a frame by itself it about $7k and you bolt up all your own accessories.

mkomar24 - Your coyote build was super inspirational, and I've began the programming phase of my own tube chassis build. It just makes so much sense. Keep us posted on your progress man!
