Car has been idling rough on first start up and continues to do so. It's freshly built and I was attempting break in but the only way to keep it running was to fully advance the timing. I pulled the valve cover and seen this

What is the next course of action I should take as far as getting the timing set correctly? Pull the gears or pull the cover and redo it completely? Thanks.

Your left side mechanical cam is off. Should be 11 links dot to dot. Why is it off? Could be the chain installation or it may be just off a link because cams were not set for top dead center correctly. I can't see the lobes, so for now you have to make sure #1 lobes are <0 0> zero. That should be clear. After you adjust the chain, manually rotate the engine and see if the chain wants to pop or jump in its movements. If it does stop. Consult a physician!
Assuming you know a Lil about setting timing mechanical timing.

Thank you sir, yea I was just unsure if I could fix the problem by rotating the cam or if I needed to pull the timing cover itself. I referred to the fsm and seen the 11 links. I am setting at 10 links. I believe it was installed improperly, seems to be tensioned fine.
