Nissan History Expo - Hiratsuka, Atsugi Japan
Had an afternoon free last week, so headed up to Atsugi Japan to the Kanagawa prefectural art gallery. Nissan had a small exhibit on hand showing some of there work.
First up is this 1966 Silvia, chassis code CSP311. Powered by a 1600 CC engine mustering an honest, yet period correct 90PS @ 6000 rpm. At that time this held a top speed of about 165 kph with a standing 0-400 m sprint in the high 17's. According to the short fact sheet, this model retailed for 1,200,000 JPY back then. In today's yen I suppose this would equal out to around 4,000,000 JPY. Situated just up the aisle was another 1966 model year vehicle. The classic B10 Bluebird. Can't say much for the puke color finished. Though the lines were just perfect. Would be fair to say she's in showroom condition. Next to the Sunny was this 1969 S30 Z. Again this god awful color scheme. Would it be fair to say this car was produced in troubling times? Hence why colors are just dreadful looking? Carefully laid out in this cabinet is somewhat unknown to my young eye. Could these possibly be different font variations for the Silvia? Or maybe they were all used through out the years. Really not sure. Front display shot covering the 56 yr. Datsun?, B10 Sunny, 66 CSP311 Silvia, 68 C10 Skyline, 69 PS30 Fairlady Z & 69 P310 Bluebird More to follow.... |
