S13 no crank
Hey guys I know google is still around but my problem is kinda weird I guess or I’m just not the brightest. Anyways, when I turn the key it clicks once but doesn’t even try to engage or turn the starter. Any ideas why it’s doing this? Would a entirely new engine harness from wiring specialties fix this issue? I just want to drive it. I replaced the trans harness with a wiring specialties one. I have 12v to the starter. I’m able to jump the solenoid and it spins. No engagement. Thanks I’m prepared for some “your a dumbass” comments but it’s okay I probably deserve it lol.

apply/jump 12v to the little black wire. the starter will engage and spin. so have it in neutral
dont kill yourself if it doesnt your solenoid failed

Check to be sure that all your wiring at the starter is getting power, and whatever isnt getting power trace back.
When i had this issue on my s14 the starter signal wire wasnt getting power, I temporarily wired up a push to start but ended up tracing it and fixing the wiring later on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

check your starter relay and the signal wire for coninuity from the relay pin to the starter
relays can be tested with a multimeter and a 9v battery the clicking is likely the starter relay and its either failing to forward the power to the starter or the signal wire to the starter is broken

It’s a brand new trans and engine harness so there shouldn’t be any broke connection besides from the ignition on the interior harness side. I feel that’s what causing my issue. I can hear the starter relay click every time I turn the key. I replaced the neutral safety switch as well. I’m able to jump the stater and crank it with a power probe. I’m really at a loss. I’m considering just seeing if I’m able to purchase a fuse box with the harness uncut. But that’s last resort as it has to be something stupid causing this.

Have you checked your wires for power bro Its a working starter the issue is obviously wiring, do what Kyral said and whip out the multimeter. Something isnt sending power to your starter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Check the relay then.
the way its wired the relay cant click unless the neutral or clutch switch is activated. if its clicking then you know that part of the circuit is good that only leaves the relay and the signal wire
