Rocker arm shims and guides/ help
Ok I have a notchtop sr20det s14 w/vtc, I lost one of the shims where the rocker arm sits on, and I need to get new ones before the head comes back from the machine shop. Soo does any one know what size I need? I have a stock head and valve train just shaved the head due to scratches and dings on the bottom surface. So will that play in effect to wat sizes I need? when changing rocker arm shims do I need new guides and again what size who sells them in orlando? How much ? All info is greatly appreciated.

You'll need to measure some things before you know what size shim you need. If it's the notched shim you really don't need a measurement but if it's the completely flat one you'll need to measure. A service manual will tell you how. Nissan sells shims. Decking the head you really don't need to measure shims. Usually you'll only need to change shim measurements if you shave the valves or cut the valve seats. I micrometer and dial indicator are the two things you'll need.
By guides I'm guessing you mean valve guides...and no you don't need new guides. Service manual is your best friend dude...download one.

Ok I looked at the thread you sent me but you think if I use
A level to make sure the shims are leveled with the valve stem or RockerArm hole where the shim goes in to? |

Nissan sells them but may have to order, and I'm sure Nissan would do it. I don't live in Orlando, so I couldn't help ya there.
