Remove the retainer bolts, and pry it out with a large flat head. Then use a 17mm impact gun to remove the ring gear. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...ei+lsd+install |

I removed my open diff out myself without reading from DF. Get those braces off (the part that holds down the output shafts and shim) with a 17mm socket. Get yourself some kind of prybar and a hammer. Put the prybar at the walls of the inner pinion housing, and whack the end of the bar with the hammer. Whack it fairly hard, then whack it on the other side, the same way.
it should just pop right out. For the 240sx diff, there are 2 shims on the left, and 2 shims on the right. The longer output shaft is on the right, etc etc. have a good buddy hold the diff down and impactgun that bitch. what do you plan to do with the diff? Aftermarket or weld? |

yeah i thought about it but i didnt want to be hopping around corners, its my daily driver. This was a really good upgrade for me because im not really advanced when it comes to drifting and dont want to spend 800 on a new LSD. It also helped a lot in the 1/4, went from 13.6 to 13.2, though it probably wasnt all due to the diff.
