Gauge cluster and tail lights won't light up

Hey guys,

I recently just changed all my fuses and everything worked fine and then a couple days later they went out again. I have changed the fuses and I have checked all the others. The thing is is i tried a different relay and everytime I turn my headlights on it sounds like a light switch clicking. I have searched and all them say the same thing, but nothing about a relay.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Zak

Its the fuse. You have a short. Might be corrosion in a bulb or a frayed wire. Get to testing with a ohm meter. And see if wiggling a wire blows it out.

I had a similar problem once, turned out to be the 75a alternator fuse in the engine bay. I tried changing all the other fuses, and it worked sporadically but that fuse was the permanent fix..

If it was the alternator fuse then none of gauges or accessories would work. But i had a same exact problem and mine turned out to be the rear lights fuse. Replaced that and everything was back to normal!

This. Had the same problem in more than one car, same culprit.

This same problem is going on with me after doing a dohc / 5speed swap. None of the guages work or lights except for headlights.

^The same thing happened to my S13 about two years ago. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Took it to an elec. specialist, he called me later the same day to tell me the white elec. box behind the driver's side kick panel had gone bad. OP, your issue sounds like a bad connection causing a short.

If:
None of your gauges, accessories and dash lights work then its the alt fuse.
or
If none your dash lights and rear lights work then its the rear lights fuse.
