UK, June 3, 2008 - American Pie producer Warren Zide has announced yet another horror project as part of his Parallel Media deal - and this one involves brain-box zombies.

Called The Harvard Zombie Massacre, the film sees an army of the undead invading America's most prestigious university, resulting in the country's most brilliant students doing battle with equally brilliant zombies.

Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit have written the script, and according to Variety, the film will shoot early next year.

Pic is Zide's second under the eight-picture Parallel deal, the first being Joe Dante's forthcoming horror Bat Out of Hell.

I swear if I ever win the lotto, I'm going to write, produce, and direct, and probably star in my own Zombie flick. Do an old school Romero move. The movie would be like 2 hours long to. I always feel like zombie movies aren't long enough. And their emotions aren't shown enough. There's a physical threat shown but never the emotional threat of going insane. Well all of Romero's films cover the emotional side. It usually is what leads to the physical parts of the movie. However, you're right. Even though it is shown, I have yet to ever really feel the angst of a character under the constant pressure of the undead. Some books do capture this though, so I think with more free time I'll start reading more z novels.

Yea, that's what I'm talking about. Like to the point where they just want to give up. I Am Legend showed this pretty well. I think that a good zombie movie would cover a longer period of time. I imagine something like Interview with a Vampire but covering a mortals lifespam living with the zombies.

Sooo I just finished watching Diary of the Dead. I didn't think it was that bad at all, and it had a few cool kill scenes. The amish guy kicked ass. The only thing that killed it, is that dumb ass who is so hell bent on recording EVERYTHING. Shit, not everything needs to be recorded just record your life, don't go looking for trouble and stand around. That was retarded. It could have been soooooooooo much better it's straight ridiculous.

its a pretty amazing movie, considering the budget they had to work with. Its a little cheezy at times but it works.

yeah, i'll have to agree with you there on diary. i think the general premise about the youtube culture was valid, and it could have had good potential. unfortunately, the whole videotaping thing was just overdone, implausible and annoying. it was also strange how the zombies rarely attacked the camera-man (aside from the final scene), just those around him. it just made the film unrealistic and low on tension. I think Romero would have done a better job if he just focused on making a good zombie film, and not so much a satire.

Rec did almost the exact same thing, but the execution worked somehow. the acting was better. everyone, including the camera-man was being chased around. the satire was subtle, even if it was there at all. focus was on making a good survival horror film, and that's precisely what was delivered. Overall a much better film imo.

Got the wrecking bar on lock, shotgun for fun, that and its like 100 shells for 15 bucks at kmart.

I just watched diary as well and i thought the idea and execution wasn't too bad.
