California Smog
RANT
So my car has a pod filter. I have a 2003 Ford Taurus, and I'm trying to get it regoed before I sell it. The car has a fking pod filter. Yeah I know it doesn't do anything. Sounds a bit nicer though. Just got bored one weekend in college so decided to custom fit a pod filter to a shitbox. So anyway. Apparently you can't pass smog with an aftermarket filter. What, just what, the fuck??? Like what the fuck do I even do at this point? Do I really have to dig through my garage in the hopes of finding the original airbox? What the fuck california. I feel the rage of a thousand suns. Please calm my nerves zilvia.net |

If you can't find it, you can throw a K&N cone filter on it. Most if not all K&N cone filters are carb legal. As for it passing the tail pipe or not, that would be up to the condition of the car and its other emissions components.

What did you expect? Really this thread is pretty damn pointless, why make a thread about your own stupidity.
And the above is BS, the filter must be carb approved for your car, you can't just go pick up a random K&N with a carb sticker and expect to pass.

Why do you have a cone filter on a 2003 ford Taurus to begin with?
And why didnt you keep the OEM equipment? Doesnt sound like very prudent planning on your part. Are you new to America?
