The non-vvti 1JZ uses a hydraulic powered cooling fan for the radiator. Said hydro fan runs off a pump that is part of the water pump assembly. You have two option, you can try to find a stock hydro fan (good luck) and run it, OR you can cap off/recirculate the hydro fan pump and just run electric fans. Most people convert from the 1jz hydro fan/water pump to the 2JZ water pump/clutch fan or electic fans.

If you're going to keep the existing hydro fan/water pump assembly, recirculate/loop the hydraulic system and run electric fans; obviously, you're going to get the hydro fan related belt. If you're going to switch to the 2JZ water pump with a clutch fan or electric fans; you're going to get the clutch fan related belt.

Rear sump wont work with the s13 subframe you'll have to buy the upper and lower section from driftmotion or used. Most people either get sway bar spacers for stock or the sikky kit

Hey guys some r154 questions.. Which one fits the s chassis best? Shifter extension or no? What cars did they come in? Also what about the r154's in usdm mark 3 supras. Will that match up good shifter-wise with a jz bell housing of course? Thanks in advance.

this thread honestly makes my head hurt... a vvti is nothing like a vvl sr20... if you want horse power, stay away from the vvti. The 1jz vvti is a garbage ass motor for high hp. That and finding someone that can even tune a vvti is a task in itself. And as for the price to swap, Gs Motorsports in Irving texas, Known for 240sx will sell you a 2j/5speed and install with piping and wiring for 5k. So im pretty sure this swap can be done for a hell of alot cheaper if you know what you are doing. Just food for thought.
