i know some Supra guy's that run automatic's run a differant shifter.

i was just wondering if anyone on here is running an aftermarket automatic shifter? or if anyone has done anything to there auto shifter to make it look better?

-there was this guy on nico that put paddle shifters on one.

-there is also a way to pull the top off of yours, put a shift boot on it and put a universal shift knob on it.

yeah, i'm more less going for a 5spd look.
i'm looking for a spare auto shifter to tare apart.
here is how it looks right now.
it's got a 5spd center with a boot that has been recovered. Now i'm just trying to find a knob or something.

I just want to make it look a little better cause now i have 2 S14 seats, new carpet,New Gauges, New Steering wheel/QR/Hub,Cage sometime soonish, and getting a Digital climate control. so i need to do something with the shift knob.

I know the supra guys relocate there O/D button on there car. And they make it to where they just push the shifter down to go from Park to Drive...

here's how it is done in a supra.

nice, if you want to find a spare auto shifter, post it up on the wtb section http://zilvia.net/f/wanted-buy/ . So many people do 5 speed swaps, im sure you will find one for cheep.

as for the relocation of o/d, once you get the shifter, mess with it a little, see if you can locate the sensors/linkages for the different gears, who knows, it may be fairly easy.

Just buy a manual knob and JB weld it to the pin. The white thing with the slant cut on the top.

I think a Hurst Quarter Stick or a B&M Hammer shifter would be cooler.

i was thinking that too, but what about the "lockout" for reverse and what not? would the car go freely into them? or how would you work that?

The lever on both of them is to operate the lockout.

You glue it to the lockout rod not the shaft. Still need a shifter that is long enough to ride the shaft or you may bend the rod.

Have you looked at the shift linkage lengths and what will work for your setup?
