I've only seen/heard one of these that I adored (still can't see myself driving one especially since auto was the only tranny option). I was on my way to work about 4 years ago and one roared by. The sound was pure ecstasy! Funny thing is that I was stuck in a grocery store and browsing through a car magazine (can't remember which one, I think it was Turbo) and the car that I saw on the freeway was featured in the mag.
Turned out the car was turboed and making a little over 500hp to the wheels. Ha ha. It was a nice dark purple color too. Nice! That's what I like to hear. |

Sc430's are HUGLY underated i believe. with the right drop wheels and aero it's a whole new car.
the prices are really starting to get into a reachable price for me. as you can find them in the teens now. but i hate the way they look stock...so it would need wheels/aero/suspension right away.

yeah I meant that the auto to manual conversion now a days is a joke. Tons of Adapter plates or custom bell housings out there to bolt up W58s, R154s and V160s. Some of the swaps require no fabbing at all and can be done by two dudes in like 5-8 hours

You just answered your own question, lol. It's because it looks like a car that's actually driven without the shoe shine and all, not just a prom queen...the car has balls.
I'm actually thinking about getting one now too, lol. I'm surprised no one's posted Ueno's old Soarer.

It looks off to me because the wheel size is too big for the body; yes that is possible.
Maybe if he had a rear bumper that was a little more aggressive, as well as lower that would help. But to me as I've said before makes the car look like a frog/toad.

i like that, good height that is daily driver friendly.. all the other neg camber slammed ones here like that scweet1 , your gonna be buying tires every 3 months, which is really no fun despite being the zilvia craze.

Late to the party as usual with zilvia threads... But yeah, these things are cheap, cheap to make good power, and oddly reliable... I have a shitty xs power turbo kit and beat the shit out of mine all the time with about 300whp and it runs great. For the most part everything has been said, the stock seats sit super high, all the lights on the dash go out, the bushings fall apart, and the trunk shocks go out. Unlike what other people said, manuals seem to be pretty common around here, and I've found that mine has been really cheap to mod, but I've never had an s chassis to compare to.
This.

JZZ30 is so cool. That ill roller red one with GT wing is super neat.
I kind of like the SC convertible but I feel like in order to own one I would need a blue tooth headset / old man / polo shirt tucked into Levi blue jeans with slip on loafers (no socks)
