Starting Problem....HELPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
Ok so I bought a 93 hatchback a few weeks back. The car has been Great!!! No problems driving, interior perfect. Needless to say i LOVE the car. I recently replaced the rear hatch, plugs, wires, valve cover gasket and oil/filter. Runs even better. So here's my question from the day i bought the car ive had a slight starting problem, the RPM's go to about 900 like normal and as she warms up sit nice at about 600. Once in a while ill turn the key the rpms go up to about 900 like normal then a split second later the rpms go down the 0 and the car stalls but then starts up on the next try. I recently raised the IDLE to about 800 and the problem still happens. I know its not the starter because if it were it wouldnt crank at all( but it always cranks right up) Does anyone have any idea what this is? I would like to fix it ASAP. Thank you for you help and i appreciate it!!!!!! I hope someone has an idea.

Joe

i wouldn't touch the idle screw. try cleaning your throttle body where the butterfly flap is. sometimes gunk build up. also check your vacuum hoses for cracks and leaks.
