In case you didnt know, BLITZ has been in the works of converting a brand new GTR to rear wheel drive for Nomuken to drive in Japan's next professional D1 drift season. Here he is testing it out at the Nikko race track in Japan!

^^^ One of Nomuken's sponsors is KEY!S racing. That was one of their wheels from the FossaMagna series they did in collaboration with another driver. I guess he wanted flames on the wheel.
Car looks like its loaded with torque. 3:05 -3:10 shows him linking that awkward right turn by just pushing down on the gas a few short times.

you can see they have a few kinks to work out, i dont think its supposed to be squealing like that in the very beginning when he starts off with Abe-chan in the car, after all it was only a test run. you could also see how uncomfortable Nomuken was, he was out of his 4 door element...and put into the most advanced 2 door element lol.
its def guna be competitve. you could imagine a RWD GTR being a torque monster, hes guna make sooo muuch smoooke. |

yup, doesnt look too fucking agile and without being able to clutch kick it, I dont see it getting the angles to stay competetive. Well, itll probably be given biased points for being the only one in D1 driving a GTR but itll get old after a couple events. |

true, it doesnt have a cage yet. not even close to being done. i just looked closer, that shit is like all stock. we'll see if they can shed the 200kg that it has over his er34 sucks, im a fan of his too. his old car made me love the 4dr r34. edit: look at the way he's driving it though. he's just getting a feel for it. check out his initiation at 2:57, kinda turns in twice; the second turn in seems like it snaps kinda quick. |

i think hes guna fair pretty well. the car is nowhere near fully completed. they still have alot to complete and make the car comfortable/competitively drivable for nomuken.
it was like prolly one of the 1st test drives for nomuken, it was a pure feel run for him. he wasnt going anywhere near all out. |

Who cares about "competitive"?
It's the "OMG IT'S A FRIGGIN GT-R!!!!!!!" factor. It will be in EVERY magazine, and on every fanboys mind. Even if he puts it into a wall, it's going to sell magazines and videos, and fuel adolescent wet dreams. Then again, this from an objective view of drifting to begin with. So make your own calls.

I wonder how they did the conversion. Nomuken is a great driver and I'm sure he will adapt to the car fairly quickly. Look at NOB when he switched over to the Altezza and still is gangster with it. The GTR just needs a bit more work.

I would imagine that it wouldn't be too difficult to add a button on the wheel to disengage the clutch. Yay, clutch kick with your thumb.
