What type of driving do you partake in/enjoy the most, and why? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yin-yang.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':yingyang:'>

as i have not yet participated in anautoX (weird family/work/other circumatances)
i drive my car hard, and live in NH, very twisty and hilly, but by no means canyon driving <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

i do mountain driving. well, i guess it would be 'hill' driving. i like it because i get away from everything. i can go slow and enjoy the scenery, or go a little faster and blast some music. i have a 40 mile route that i have memorized. i'm just praying i don't hit a deer someday.

I use mine as a daily driver, but I drive pretty hard sometimes. I haven't started autox yet, but I plan to soon. Mostly, it's just mountain roads late at night.

I thought togue was drift??
Umm, I don't really fit into any of those so I put road racing for the hell of it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> one day...

DSC - the literal translation of "touge" is "peak" (as in the peak of a mountain), which is/suggests (as far as I know) mountain driving/hillclimb/twisties/canyon carving.
I am personally a touge slut. Hopelessly addicted to safe, responsible driving @ reasonable speeds on roads where there are very few cars. ... I got into touge when my cousin first drove me up there in his WRX wagon- man, was I f*cking scared!! When I finally got my car (VW GTi) I thought I'd take it up and see how I fared; unfortunately, nowhere near as well as he. In any case, after driving one or three thousand miles up in the hills in my 1.8T GTi (on stock susp.) I decided that I needed either a) new suspension or b) a new car. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> So instead of throwing hundreds of $$ into a lost cause (face it, the GTi simply wasn't meant for touge!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I invested in a 240 to satisfy my craving... errr, yeah. Not like any of you needed to know, but that's my touge story! |

Primarily touge. It's fun and it's free. =P
My opinions: - My car is way too slow for drag racing to be any fun. - Autocross costs too much for about 6 minutes of driving. - Road racing is too expensive to do often, and impractical on the streets. - Drifting is very impractical on the streets, and wears out the tires so quickly. Touge has its own downfalls too though. Road conditions can be unpredictable (gravel, animals, weather), accidents happen waaay too much cuz of the tiny margin for errors, wannabes want to come along and just watch, and there's no place to do it legally. But it's so much fun! LOL there should be a race track that's entirely on a mountain. ^_^ That'd be hella kewl. But I recommend that people stay away from touge. :p |

Hahaha... I couldn't put it any better, Danio! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I'm glad there are others out there that think alike... sort of. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> The fewer tougers the better, I say! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>
OTOH, I'm surprised there are "no" drag racers here! come on, why is no one taking part in my poll!? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> yes well. Tougemon is out of action for a few days while I get alignment done. -_- |

I chose road race, because "road" is close enough to "street."
Don't give me shit for street racing either. I don't think I've ever had to go more than 10 over the limit, when I hit my brakes and get back down to the limit. -Jeff

OTOH what I meant by "road race" was proper non-oval, non-straight line track racing. I'm sure you knew that, but in my mindset, any sort of street racing falls under "drag" ... just because it's all about who can go faster in a straight line (freeways are relatively straight) ... but don't let my semantics stop you guys from voting! |

I go out of state to school ... So I do mostly highway driving.
I prefer Highway driving .. that was until my car started to shake a little. Maybe bad rims. However, I live in the city .. and deal with alot of traffic, thank god i got a automatic.

My car is my daily driver, as well. But other than that, I love auto-x'ing. I also love taking clover-leafs off of expressways, and getting on the highway at WOT. I just love my car in general!! But, no drag-racing or street-racing.
