Master Guide for Aftermarket Seats
Inspired by the Master Guide for Wheels, I thought we could do something similar for aftermarket driver's seats. This is, of course, a self-interested post, because I am in the process of trying to pick out a new driver's seat and have been searching here and digging through websites trying to find definitive info. I figure if everyone with aftermarket seats (other than S14 in S13, or R32/R33 seats; I mean like Bride, Recaro, etc) can fill in according to this formula, all of us looking for seats will have a better idea of what we are getting into, and will help those searching in the future.
1. S13/S14/sunroof 2. Seat Manufacturer/Model 3. Price of seat 4. Bucket/reclinable 5. Bracket used 6. Bracket mods required 7. Driver's height and weight 8. Headroom ok? 9. How does seat fit you, ie will someone bigger/smaller fit ok? 10. Pics |

1. S13 sunroof
2. Buddy Club Bucket Seat 3. $350 4. Bucket 5. Bride (bucket rail, don't remember the model number) 6. None 7. 5' 9" 135lbs 8. Never hit anything w/ or w/o helmet 9. Fits me perfect, you can be a little bigger, a lot of my friends squeeze into it, but I would avoid if you are a little taller, makes the harness and headrest uncomfy 10. Pics

1. S13 No sunroof
2. Skyline R32 GTR 3. Depends ~ expect to pay a bit for a good condition one 4. Reclineable 5. Stock skyline rails... 6. ... rear hole doesnt line up; weld an extension or use a big washer to fit it. 7. 6' 159 lbs 8. Helmet clears 9. If you aren't very slendor you will have a tough time fitting into the bolsters.

1. S13 coupe sunroof
2. Corbeau Forza 3. 200 something plus rail 4. Bucket 5. Crobeau Bracket 6. Remove the slider. Massaged the bracket with a 4 lb sledge. 7. 6 feet 200 lbs 8. Head room OK with no bottom cushion OR slider but don't fit with a helmet. 9. For fat people only. ITS REALLY WIDE. But its the only thing that fits my shoulders. Sparco EVO and EVO2 is a better choice/fit.

Those low max seats are running around 760 for the seats themselves. It would be great for tall people but I am also in the category of "I need a wide seat". I sat in some Brides before and my balls were pinned together, not comfy.

out of curiosity.........since most of you guys posting up are taller........do you feel that these seats will also fit somebody who is 5'6" and 150lbs??? (not 150lbs of fat either......in case that makes any difference)
so far i've sat in a number if different seats (can't remember them all) and the Buddy Club Racing Spec has been the most comfortable.......its easy to get into and out of for a daily driven car yet it was still extremely supportive all around thanx in advance Late, Daniel

Every place i've seen online, i call them and they say "oh we havent updated our page. its not available" Which doesnt surprise me cuz it is from the old line which is discontinued. So thats why I've been looking for a used one, but i havent caught one yet. I'll find one one of these days!

Why do the zeig's sit so much lower than zeta III? Will the Nagisa Seat Rails help with clearance for taller people with zeta III's or are they just as low as Bride FG's

Just wondering why I see more aftermarket bucket seats than adjustable ones? Is everyone a full time racer or drifter? doesn't anyone like a little tilt/gangster lean for long drives? or you could even be waiting for your wife or girlfriend in a parking lot and feel the need for reclining!
