Update #2:
This is where the car stands as of today (1/5/11) Ok so basically i had to put the project on halt for a little bit. I will pick up again on it on 1/21 (due to legal issues.) NO ITS NOT STOLEN! The quarters have been cut for the 40mm widebody I'm installing. I also included a more complete engine bay picture, but i guarantee it wont look like that in a couple weeks. I've decided to change a few things and maybe add a few more goodies. but here are some better exterior pictures for all of you who are following this build. Once 1/21 comes along I will be updating every week so stay tuned in to this. Once the shop was cleared out we moved it inside: Last edited by angeldunk707; 01-12-2012 at 10:20 PM.. |

Looks pretty cool man. I gave up on the S-chassis a while back. Probably shoulda just thrown my S15 motor in there but I wanted that extra half a liter. That STi 6-speed aint cheap to make RWD
Russell?s STI debut... kinda.... Heres where mines at. Just need a CAN cable from Vipec and some other small stuff and it should run this month. |

Naaa to each his own, and considering the price it cost to modify a Suby, the SR is a smart move. I busted 500hp with an EJ20G and it wasn't cheap. Its one of the reasons I moved to a S chassis, cause its cheap!! (in Japan that is)

Update #3
Where the car stands as of (1/29/11) Here is another update of the car. As you can see we mocked up the widebody and just used self-tapping screws to fit it properly. Also I received my 00' 2.5RS Bumper today, received my 17x9.5 +22 5Zigen GN+, and have also started mocking up the cage. This cars' deadline is Feb. 20 so please stay subscribed to this build to see what has yet to come and be here for the finishing touches. After thinking of what front end to go with I decided to just stick with the OEM 00-01 RS Bumper: Once established in the shop we started gutting the car more and mocking up the dash fitment: Last edited by angeldunk707; 01-12-2012 at 10:31 PM.. |

Update #4
Where the car stands as of (2/12/11) First off let me apologize for not taking more pictures. The cage is pretty much done just have to make door bars. I'm currently test fitting seats because the plans have changed and I've decided to go full interior since this will be a street/track car. I've been running into issues at the last minute (it can never go smoothly). Ive been received wrong parts and also have been running into wiring problems so that has set me back. Now its crunch time. My crew 8 days till the show. Here are the pictures I've taken of the exterior. Wheels have been mounted (not its permanent fitment) i still need to adjust camber and cut out a little from the rear quarters and possibly go lower. I've also mocked up the front end with the stock L headlights and grille. In the midst of all this I purchased some 17x9.5 5Zigen GN+ to help fill in the widebody which we also managed to test-fit: Last edited by angeldunk707; 01-12-2012 at 10:31 PM.. |

I actually had a dream about this the other day.... I wokeup and was like, fuck this would be such a sick swap! And then I was like I'd have to do it with a 4 door because 2 doors are super hard to find. well shit, now i've found the perfect combo right here! Someone buy my R33 I wanna to do this!

At least is a show and not a demo/event. You can just have the car sit there all pretty and not worry about starting it up. Haha. Good luck!
Are the rear seats getting reupholstered? It looks like they have been stripped and are just the foam pieces sitting in there.

I'm assuming that is the way it was for the mock up and not the finished crossmember? Any issues with the steering rack?

Haha yes that was a mock up. Now the crossmember is tubular and looks much better. As for the steering rack all I had to do was extend the steering linkage out a bit because I lowered the crossmember height 1 1/2inch.

I was scared for a moment lol. I'm working on something similar so I was just curious as to how you went about it. Would love to see pics.
